Shandong Youth University Of Political Science was founded in 1949 as Shandong Youth League university, and in 1987, the Shandong Youth Management Cadre College was established with the approval of the former State Education Commission and Shandong Provincial People's Government, and in 2010, Shandong Youth University Of Political Science was established as a full-time undergraduate university with the approval of the Ministry of Education.

The university is a provincial civilized campus, and has been awarded the excellent grade in the performance assessment of provincial institutions in Shandong Province in 2019 and 2020, and is one of the first universities supported in the construction of applied undergraduate universities in Shandong Province.
