Zibo Vocational Institute University, located in Zibo City, Shandong Province, is a public undergraduate vocational school under the leadership and management of Shandong Province.

The school originated from Zibo Commercial School established in 1956. In July 2002, Zibo Vocational College was established. In 2009, Zibo Vocational College of Science and Technology and Shandong Light Industry Art School merged into Zibo Vocational College; In 2007, it was selected as one of the 100 national demonstration higher vocational college construction units, and passed the acceptance of the first batch of Shandong Province high-quality higher vocational college construction project in May 2010.

In accordance with the Higher Education Law of the People's Republic of China, the Vocational Education Law of the People's Republic of China, the Interim Regulations on the Establishment of ordinary Institutions of Higher Learning and other relevant provisions as well as the results of the eighth National Review Committee on the establishment of Institutions of Higher Learning, and the decision of the Party Leading Group meeting of the Ministry of Education, it is agreed to establish Zibo Vocational and Technical University on the basis of Zibo Vocational College. The school identification code is 4137013009; At the same time, the Zibo Vocational College was abolished. The professional setting of the school is handled in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education, and it is agreed to set up the first six professional undergraduate majors, including electrical engineering and automation, automotive engineering technology, Internet of Things engineering technology, applied chemical technology, pharmaceutical engineering technology, and construction engineering.
