Zhumadian Preschool Education College

Zhumadian Preschool Education College is located in Zhumadian City, Henan Province. It is a public full-time ordinary higher vocational college. The school was founded in 1906 as the "Ruyang Normal Training Institute" and has a century-long history of running schools. It has gone through several stages of development, including "Runing Prefecture Primary Normal School", "Henan Provincial Third Normal School", "Runan County Simple Rural Normal School", "Short-term Teacher Training Class", "Runan Simple Normal School", "Runan Primary Normal School", and "Henan Runan Normal School". In 2002, it was renamed "Henan Runan Preschool Normal School". In 2010, the municipal government decided to merge Henan Runan Preschool Normal School with Shangcai Normal School. In March 2017, it was upgraded to Zhumadian Preschool Education College, which is one of the 4 preschool education colleges in Henan Province and the only one in southern Henan. The school fully implements the Party's educational policy, adheres to the socialist orientation in running schools, sticks to normal education, and devotes itself to preschool education. It has gradually formed a professional system with preschool education as its characteristic, art education as its bright feature, normal majors as its foundation, and social service majors as new growth points. It is the center for cultivating preschool teachers, training in-service preschool teachers, and researching preschool education science in southern Henan. The school has multiple scientific research and practice platforms, such as the Preschool Education Research Center, the Tianzhong Folk Culture Research Center, the Zhumadian Workstation of the Family Education and Population Health Promotion Professional Committee of Henan Provincial Population Association, the Tianzhong Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Center, and the Infant Care Center. Since its establishment, the school has trained more than 80,000 qualified basic education and preschool education teachers for the society, and trained more than 20,000 in-service preschool teachers at all levels. Many graduates have become principals, kindergarten directors, experts, professors, and teaching backbones, playing a leading role in promoting the development of regional education.
