Zhengzhou Polytechnic College was founded in 1976 and is a regular higher vocational college sponsored by the Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government. The school currently has 998 teachers, among whom 330 hold senior professional and technical titles and 693 have master's degrees or above. The total value of teaching and research equipment in the school is 271 million yuan. It has three national-level exemplary training centers (bases) and seven provincial-level training bases. A total of 179 advanced and fully functional on-campus training sites and 650 off-campus internship and training bases have been built. The internship and training conditions are among the top in similar institutions in the province.
