Zhejiang Financial College is located in Hangzhou, a famous historical and cultural city in China. Its predecessor was Zhejiang School of Finance and Banking founded in 1975. In 1978, Zhejiang Finance and Banking School was divided into Zhejiang Finance School and Zhejiang Bank School. In 1994, Zhejiang Bank School was rated as a national key technical secondary school. In 2002, Zhejiang Financial Vocational College was approved by the provincial People's government and put on record by the Ministry of Education. In 2003, it was awarded as the first excellent school in Zhejiang Province. In 2006, it was identified by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance as one of the first batch of "National demonstration higher vocational college construction units", and passed the acceptance inspection with excellent results in 2009. In 2014, it was awarded the honorary titles of "Zhejiang Model Collective", "National Advanced Collective of Vocational Education" and "National Typical College of Graduate Employment Experience". In 2016, it won the Award of Huang Yanpei Excellent Vocational Education School. In 2017, it was identified as a key construction vocational college in Zhejiang Province. In 2019, it was recognized as a "National Quality School" by the Ministry of Education, and ranked among the top 50 vocational colleges in China for teaching management and student management with the second place. It also ranked among the top 50 vocational colleges for "contribution to Social Services" for three consecutive years, and was listed as a high-level vocational college with Chinese characteristics and a construction unit of the professional construction Plan by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance. The comprehensive strength and competitiveness of the school ranked among the top 1% in the country.

The college has two campuses, Xiasha District and Shaoxing Binhai New District, with a total area of 1205.4 mu and a building area of 574,000 square meters (Xiasha campus is 334,000 square meters and Shaoxing Binhai New District is under construction of 240,000 square meters). Currently, there are 625 faculty members, including more than 110 high-level talents with senior titles and doctor's degrees, 2 leading talents (famous teachers) of the National "Ten Thousand People Plan", 1 with special government allowance from The State Council, 2 outstanding principals of national Huang Yanpei Vocational Education and 2 outstanding teachers. There is one national teaching innovation team for vocational education teachers, two training bases for "double-qualified" teachers, one excellent teacher, one top ten influential model figure of ideological and political theory course in colleges and universities, and one excellent teaching team. At present, there are 12,214 students.

In recent years, our teachers have presided over more than 150 scientific research projects at the provincial and ministerial level or above (including 5 projects funded by the National Social Science Fund), and more than 1000 scientific research projects at the department or bureau level or above. The number of papers published by teachers in 14 core Chinese educational journals has ranked first among all vocational colleges in China for 14 consecutive years.

The college has 11 secondary schools, including the School of Marxism, the School of Financial Management, the School of Investment and Insurance, the School of Accounting, the School of Business Administration, the School of International Business, the School of Information Technology, the School of Humanities and Arts, the School of Liberal Arts, the College of Fair Lady, and the College of Silver Collar, offering 25 majors. Among them, the School of Marxism is one of the first batch of key Marxism colleges in Zhejiang Province. Financial Service and Management, Big Data and Accounting, International Economics and Trade, Insurance practice, Wealth management, Marketing and Business English are the national backbone majors. Five majors, including International Finance, International Business, Rural finance, Big Data and Financial Management, and Modern Secretary, are featured majors in Zhejiang Province. The college hosts four national teaching resource databases for financial services and management and two upgrading and improvement support projects for international economics and trade. Since 2015, it has cooperated with China Jiliang college to cultivate four-year undergraduate talents majoring in financial engineering. From 2020, it will cooperate with Hangzhou Dianzi college , Zhejiang Gongshang college , Zhejiang college of Finance and Economics, and Zhejiang International Studies college to carry out undergraduate talent training. It has 46 high-quality courses at or above the provincial level, including 8 national high-quality courses, 8 high-quality resource sharing courses, 2 high-quality online open courses, and 1 national ideological and political demonstration course. It has been selected as the research Center of Ideological and Political Curriculum of the Ministry of Education, the construction unit of classroom innovation school in Zhejiang Province, and the provincial Demonstration school of ideological and political curriculum. It has established 1 demonstration center of ideological and political teaching of provincial curriculum, 1 demonstration grassroots teaching organization of ideological and political curriculum, and 6 research projects of ideological and political teaching of curriculum. Twelve projects were approved as the second batch of teaching reform projects in the 13th Five-Year Plan of higher education.

The college has set up the Training and Research Institute of applied financial talents, the Collaborative Innovation Center of cross-border E-commerce Application Technology in Zhejiang Province, the industry-college -Research Collaborative Innovation Center of Service Trillion Financial Industry in Zhejiang Province, Base, Curriculum Ideological and political Research Center, Czech Research Center, Higher Vocational Education Research Center and Zhejiang Local Financial Development Research Center. Among them, the industry-college -research collaborative innovation base for the trillion yuan service financial industry in Zhejiang Province has been recognized as the provincial demonstration base of industry-education integration by the provincial Department of Education. Zhejiang Province Collaborative Innovation Center of cross-border e-commerce integrated service application technology has been recognized as a national collaborative innovation center by the Ministry of Education. It has established "Zhejiang Securities and Futures Investor Education Base" and "National securities and Futures Investor Education Base".
