Adopting the motto of "Perseverance and Self-reliance", YZU’s education features a rich legacy in humanities, advantages in agricultural sciences, the integration of sciences and humanities, and a pluralistic development of various interdisciplines. Currently, there are 30,700 full-time undergraduate students and 16,200 postgraduate students on YZU campuses, including over 2,400 overseas students. Among the 2,700 full-time faculty members and over 2,000 medical staff, there are 2 Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. YZU’s 29 colleges offer 125 undergraduate programs, covering the 12 disciplines of philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management science and art. YZU has 3 national key disciplines, 21 doctoral programs, and 53 master’s programs. YZU’s overall competence as well as 11 disciplines, namely chemistry, plant and animal sciences, engineering, agricultural sciences, clinical medicine, material science, computer science, biology and biochemistry, pharmacology and toxicology, environment/ecology, microbiology have entered ESI’s top 1% among worldwide universities and research institutes. YZU has constructed over 50 platforms for teaching and scientific research that are of ministerial or provincial level or above, including a Joint International Laboratory and a Research Center for Regional and Cross-nation Studies, and has set up close cooperation and exchange relations with 286 higher education institutions and research institutes in 56 countries and regions.

The international exchange and cooperation of Yangzhou University (YZU) continued to advance. Relying on projects and platforms such as the 20+20 cooperation plan between Chinese and African universities, the China Arab 10+1 higher education cooperation, the China ASEAN education training center, the Jiangsu British high level University Alliance, the Eurasian Pacific academic association, and the Jiangsu Hong Kong Macao university cooperation alliance, we have successively established inter school exchange and cooperation relations with 286 universities and research institutions in 56 countries (regions). The school has been approved as the country's first overseas Chinese benefiting project Chinese food prosperity base, 5 national innovative talents international cooperation training projects, and 56 national high-end foreign experts talent introduction projects. The school has the qualifications to recruit foreign students (including foreign students receiving government scholarships) and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. It has passed the quality certification of studying in China by the Ministry of education, and widely carried out the action plan to study abroad and promote the University. There are more than 2400 overseas students, more than 80 countries of origin, 2 Confucius Institutes and 1 Confucius Classroom have been rated as the advanced collective of Confucius Institutes in the world for four times.
