Xi’an Vocational and Technical College
Xi'an Vocational and Technical College is a public comprehensive full-time higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Shaanxi Province and run by the People's Government of Xi'an. The college covers an area of 382 mu, with its main campus located in Xi'an High-tech Industrial Development Zone, adjacent to Xi'an High-tech Software New Town. Surrounding the campus, there are a large number of Fortune Global 500 companies and high-tech enterprises, boasting significant advantages in school-enterprise cooperation and resource sharing.
Currently, the college has 12 teaching units, including the School of Big Data Application (School of Animation and Software), the School of Architecture and Rail Transit, the School of Modern Business, the School of Electronic Information Engineering, the School of Biology and Pharmacy (School of Rural Revitalization), the School of Health Care, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (School of Automotive Engineering), the School of Preschool Education, the School of Marxism, the Department of Basic Courses, the School of Continuing Education, and the School of International Exchange. It has 644 faculty members and more than 12,000 students.
The college offers 46 three-year higher vocational programs, covering 12 major categories and 26 professional categories. Among them, there is 1 national-level key major, 1 major supported by the central finance, 6 provincial first-class majors, and 5 provincial key majors. The animation production technology and construction engineering technology professional groups have been rated as provincial high-level professional groups, and 7 are municipal first-class majors. It has 1 national-level training base, 3 provincial demonstration training bases, 3 provincial professional comprehensive reform pilot projects, and 2 municipal high-level specialized industry-education integration training bases. A professional framework of "one main body, two wings, and multi-wheel drive" has been formed, with equipment manufacturing as the main body, information technology industry and modern service industry as the two wings, and new energy technology, construction technology, cultural creativity, and biopharmaceuticals as the drivers.
The college has strong school-running conditions, with 361 internship and training bases, including 1 national-level productive training base (Animation Workshop), 8 provincial high-level industry-education integration training bases, 152 off-campus training bases, and 199 on-campus training rooms.
The college is a national high-skilled talent training base, a pilot construction unit of the Ministry of Education's modern apprenticeship system, one of the first batch of pilot colleges for the "1+X" certificate system of the Ministry of Education, a national logistics vocational education talent training base, a pilot college for innovation and entrepreneurship education reform in Shaanxi Province, a Shaanxi animation talent training base, and a skill talent training base of Xi'an High-tech Industrial Development Zone. The "Red Culture VR Smart Learning Experience Base" has been successfully approved as a lifelong learning experience base for Xi'an citizens.
