About the University

The predecessor of Xishuangbanna Vocational and Technical College was the provincial Fohai Simple Normal School founded in 1936. In July 2001, approved by the Provincial People's Government and filed by the Ministry of Education, the former Xishuangbanna National Normal School, Xishuangbanna Radio and Television University, and Xishuangbanna Education College merged to form Xishuangbanna Vocational and Technical College. In 2003, the former Xishuangbanna Prefecture Finance School, Health School and Agricultural School were merged into the college. In 2006, it passed the evaluation of the Ministry of Education's higher vocational and technical personnel training work level and was awarded the "good" ranking; in 2012, the first batch of Yunnan Province's higher vocational education demonstration colleges was established; in 2013, it passed the characteristics of Yunnan Province's higher vocational colleges Evaluate. In 2016, he was selected as one of the “Top 50 International Influential Higher Vocational Colleges in 2016”. At present, the college is divided into two parts: the new and the old campus. The old campus is located in the center of Jinghong, the capital of Xishuangbanna Prefecture, a famous tourist city with beautiful scenery and beautiful scenery, enjoying the "national garden city" and "China's most influential tourist destination." There are 43 college majors (22 perennial enrollment), of which 5 are provincial-level specialties and key provincial-level construction majors (preschool education, applied Thai language, and Dai medicine are high-level backbone majors in Yunnan Province). The predecessor of Xishuangbanna Vocational and Technical College, Fohai Simple Normal School, was founded in September 1936. In March 1951, Fohai Junior Normal School was established on the site of the original Fohai Simple Normal School. In June 1954, it was renamed Yunnan Province Xishuangbanna Junior Normal School. In August 1972, Xishuangbanna Prefecture Nationality Normal School was established.
