UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN GUANGDONG
Guangdong Jiangmen Nanyue University (UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN GUANGDONG), abbreviated as "Nanyue University" or "Guangnan Institute," is a private full-time general undergraduate higher education institution organized by Shenzhen Everbright Strategic Investment Co., Ltd., under the supervision of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. The university is located at No. 39, Fazhan Avenue, Enping City, Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, adjacent to Enping Station on the Jiang-Zhan Railway. It is a private undergraduate university receiving strong support from the Jiangmen Municipal Government, with an institution code of 4144013675.
The school emblem adopts a dual-tier purple system (dark purple symbolizes academic heritage, while bright purple represents vitality and openness). The university motto is "Virtue and Knowledge" (derived from traditional culture, emphasizing self-cultivation through virtue and practical application of learning). In 2026, the university plans to enroll 300 students from Guangdong Province, establish six colleges covering eight major fields, and offer tuition reduction benefits to eligible full-time undergraduate students from Enping.
Some faculty members have been selected for the Guangdong Province "Ten-Thousand-Talents Project" provincial training program and have received special allowances from the State Council. The first phase of the campus covers 1,010 acres, with a building area of approximately 274,000 square meters. The university originated as Zhuhai College of Beijing Institute of Technology, established in 2004 with approval from the Ministry of Education.
On November 18, 2024, a relocation and renaming ceremony was held to convert the institution into Nanyue University in Enping City, Jiangmen. On March 25, 2025, the Enping project was fully topped out. On October 10, 2025, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education announced the proposed conversion to Nanyue University; on November 17, 2025, the application for renaming the school to Guangdong Nanyue University was submitted. On May 21, 2026, the Ministry of Education published the proposed approval for conversion to Guangdong Jiangmen Nanyue University, and in June it was included in the "National List of Higher Education Institutions."
On June 23, 2026, the founding ceremony of Guangdong Jiangmen Nanyue University was held at the new Jiangmen campus, with agreements signed with enterprises including JD.com, Huawei, China Mobile, UBTECH, Alibaba, NetEase Youdao, Kingdee, and Inspur to jointly establish specialized industry colleges. Currently, the university's undergraduate enrollment for the year 2026 has been fully launched.
