Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College was established in January 2001 by merging three vocational colleges in Tianjin Light industry industry. It is a full-time public higher education institution registered by the Ministry of Education and approved by Tianjin Municipal People's Government. The college is located in Tianjin Haihe Education Park on the shore of the Bohai Sea. It covers an area of 866 mu with a building area of 190,000 square meters and has more than 10,000 students. The college has seven high-quality professional groups with characteristics of modern vocational education, among which mold design and manufacturing, photovoltaic engineering technology are high-level professional groups with Chinese characteristics, big data technology is high-level professional group at the municipal level, and big data and accounting, creative design of plastic arts, intelligent control and digital communication are college-level characteristic professional groups. It offers 33 higher vocational majors and 2 undergraduate majors of joint training skills. The mold design and manufacturing major is the national demonstration major of equipment manufacturing in vocational colleges. It has 2 state-level skill master studios, 1 national Huang Danian style teachers' team, 3 Tianjin Vocational college teachers' teaching innovation team, and 1 state-level vocational education teachers' teaching innovation team.
