Taizhou University

Taizhou University is a comprehensive ordinary undergraduate college established with the approval of the Ministry of Education, which implements the system of provincial and municipal co-management and city-oriented. Its school-running source can be traced back to the simple normal departments of three middle schools established in 1907, and higher education was started in 1958. Taizhou Teachers College was approved by the State Council in 1978 and upgraded to undergraduate in 2002. During the development of the school, the former Taizhou Teachers' College, Linhai Normal School, Taizhou Health School and Wenling Normal School were merged one after another from 1995 to 2007. In 2008, he passed the evaluation of undergraduate teaching level of the Ministry of Education with a score of 17A2B, and successfully passed the examination and evaluation of undergraduate teaching work of the Ministry of Education in 2018. The school is divided into three campuses, Jiaojiang and Linhai, with a total area of more than 1,670 mu and a building area of about 580,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment is 480 million yuan. It has a collection of 2.30 million paper books and four affiliated hospitals directly under it. The school conditions are good and the campus scenery is beautiful. Linhai Campus focuses on arts and sciences and teacher education, with more than 5,000 students.Adhering to the strategy of strengthening the university with talents, the school creatively established the "Special Zone" Institute of Higher Education for talents and scientific research, perfected the "1+X" talent policy system, and established a well-structured and energetic faculty of more than 1,200 people. There are more than 10 top and high-end talents in the country, and 14 high-level innovation teams led by "Changjiang" and "Jieqing" have been flexibly introduced; Six people received special allowances from the State Council, and more than 30 people were awarded the titles of National May Day Labor Medal, National Model Teacher, National Excellent Teacher and Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions in Zhejiang Province.

The school pays close attention to application-oriented construction, "builds disciplines and specialties on the industry, puts personnel training in workshops, and lets scientific research papers be written on the earth", and closely focuses on the development of Taizhou "456" advanced industrial cluster and strategic emerging industries, and has established a number of disciplines and specialties groups that interact with the industrial clusters in a benign and symbiotic way, such as pharmaceutical and chemical industry, material construction, intelligent manufacturing, electrical information, life and environmental protection, etc. There are 4 provincial first-class disciplines, 1 provincial leading innovation and entrepreneurship team and 1 university high-level innovation team, 5 provincial key laboratories and engineering (technology) research centers, 5 technical alliances, 1 national expert service base, 1 national Post-Doctoral Research Center and 1 provincial academician expert workstation. Chemistry and engineering are close to the top 1% of ESI in the world. There are 55 undergraduate majors, with nearly 50% of engineering majors. There are 2 national specialty majors, 1 national first-class specialty construction site and 8 provincial first-class specialty construction sites. Four majors have passed national certification, and have been approved as 7 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers and 8 provincial talent training bases.

The school firmly established the concept of "community of destiny, community of interests and community of struggle" for the development of the school and the locality, matched the strategic deployment of the Party Committee and the government, closely interacted between the school and the locality, and promoted the deep integration of production and education. It established comprehensive cooperative relations with more than 15 municipal departments and counties (cities and districts), and established nearly 20 Industry-University-Research platforms such as Taizhou Biomedical Industry Research Institute, Taizhou Big Data Intelligence Research Center and Zhejiang (Taizhou) Microfinance Research Institute. Working with industry leaders and listed companies, we have set up industrial colleges such as Toumengang Industrial College, Yin Lun Business School, Jack College, Enze Medical College and Taizhou Industrial College, a modern construction industry in Zhejiang Province, and signed cooperation agreements with more than 300 enterprises. With the goal of creating "the big garden in Taizhou's main city, the big living room of Taizhou people, the big study room for all people in Taizhou, and the new highland for inheriting and innovating Taizhou's local spirit and culture", the Action Plan for Revitalizing Humanities and Social Sciences was implemented in depth, and a number of platforms such as Taizhou Dachen Island Reclamation Spirit Research Center, Taizhou Culture and Tourism Research Institute, Taizhou Merchant Research Institute, Tang Poetry Road Research Institute, Hehe Culture Research Institute and Tiantai Mountain Culture Research Institute were established. A number of research and consultation reports were received by superiors.

The school has firmly established the initial intention of "educating people for the party and educating talents for the country", inherited and carried forward the spirit of school motto of "bathing morality and studying in time", deepened the reform of education and teaching, and strengthened the exploration of the construction of the academy system. Relying on the provincial teacher education base, the provincial "double innovation" demonstration base and the provincial demonstration entrepreneurship college, the school has integrated innovation and entrepreneurship education into the whole process of personnel training, and vigorously cultivated those with the characteristics of "loyalty, dedication, enterprising and cooperation". In recent years, it has won nearly 100 teaching achievements at or above the provincial level and 620 competition prizes at or above Class A level at the provincial level (among them, 10 items rank among the top five in the province), and the employment rate has remained above 94%. Graduates are welcomed by industrial enterprises, and normal students have strong competitiveness in the province. With the internationalization of education as the starting point, we promoted open education and broadened the horizons of teachers and students. We jointly trained nursing masters with California Baptist University, cooperated with New Mexico State University, and jointly trained undergraduates with universities in Britain, Korea and other countries in the form of "2+2" and "3+1". We established friendly exchange relations with more than 50 universities, with alumni all over the world. Many alumni have become entrepreneurs, doctoral supervisors and main leaders of party and government organs at all levels.
