Taishan Univesity began to offer higher education in September 1958, and its history can be traced back to 1905 when tai 'an Government Normal School was founded. In March 2002, the Ministry of Education approved the establishment of undergraduate education, and in September 2012, it changed into a management system of "co-construction by provinces and cities, mainly by provinces". In November 2012, it passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education, and in 2013, it was rated as the National Advanced Institution of Entrepreneurship Education research and Practice. The university now has two campuses, north and south, covering an area of 1378 mu, with a building area of 540,000 square meters. The university has the first library, Wanli Library, which was established by the former party and state leaders. There are 15 second-level colleges with 66 undergraduate programs covering 9 disciplines, including literature, science, engineering, history, education and management. It enrolls students from 27 provinces (municipalities, autonomous regions) and has nearly 20,000 full-time regular students. There are 1456 faculty members, including 1003 full-time teachers and 286 doctors, accounting for 28.5%. The University has always been committed to building a high-level application-oriented university. It has built 10 provincial scientific research and innovation platforms such as provincial key disciplines and key laboratories, 1 academician workstation, 12 university-level key disciplines and 22 university-level advantage disciplines. Since 2002, 63 national projects have been awarded, including 49 national Natural Science Foundation projects and 130 provincial and ministerial projects. Since the 13th Five-Year Plan, it has undertaken 27 national research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Social Science Foundation of China. The teachers and students have won 253 national awards and 823 provincial awards in the "Challenge Cup" National College Students Science and Technology Innovation Competition and other competitions. We have actively promoted the construction of university-enterprise cooperative majors and 14 cooperative majors (directions).
