Located in Suzhou City, a historical and cultural city in northern Anhui Province, Suzhou University is a comprehensive general undergraduate university in Anhui Province. Founded in 1949, the university was renamed as Suzhou Normal College in 1983 and Suzhou College in 2004, and was awarded the first batch of model applied undergraduate college construction units in Anhui Province in 2009. In 2015, the university was approved as a project construction unit of local applied high-level university in Anhui Province, and in 2019, it was approved as a project construction unit of new master's degree authorization.

The university has two campuses: Education Park Campus and Bianhe Road Campus, covering an area of 1146 mu, with a construction area of nearly 500,000 square meters, a total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment of more than 200 million yuan, a collection of more than 1.3 million paper books and 6.45 million electronic books.
