Suihua University is a public comprehensive general undergraduate higher education university in Heilongjiang Province, located in Suihua City, the hometown of green products in the cold black soil of China, more than 70 kilometers away from the provincial capital Harbin.

In 1953, Suihua University was founded in Suihua County with the approval of Heilongjiang Provincial Education Department; in 1971, Suihua Regional Normal university was established on the basis of the former Suihua Normal university; in 1978, Suihua Normal University was established with the approval of the State Council, which was the first batch of higher teacher training Universitys established in China after the Cultural Revolution. In 2013, Suihua University passed the qualified evaluation of undergraduate teaching work by the Ministry of Education; in 2017, it was approved as the construction unit of master's degree authorization project; in 2018, it passed the audit evaluation of undergraduate teaching work by the Ministry of Education.

The university has distinctive characteristics. With the university motto of "Virtue and Virtue, and the world as a whole" and the university orientation of "local, application-oriented, open and international", the university implements "two education and two industries" (i.e., teacher education, special education and corn industry, arts and sports). The university has a wide range of disciplines. Now there are 13 Universitys, offering 44 undergraduate majors, covering eight disciplines, including education, literature, science, engineering, agriculture, economics, management and art. There are 12,842 full-time students in university.

The university has a well-equipped faculty. There are 810 faculty members, including 534 full-time teachers. There are 579 teachers with doctoral and master's degrees, 7 foreign teachers and 4 experts receiving special government allowances. The university facilities are well-equipped. The university insists on open universitying. The university has developed inter-university exchange and cooperation with universities in Russia such as Pyatigorsk State University and Amur State Pedagogical University, Belarusian Vitebsk State University, Italian Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, Japan Kyushu Institute of Foreign Languages, Korea Suwon University and Daejin University, Malaysia University of Technology, Thailand Shinawatra University, and Far Eastern University of the Philippines, etc. and sent international students to each other. The university vigorously develops special education. The university cooperates with the Provincial Department of Education and the Provincial Disabled Persons' Federation to establish the University of Special Education, the only undergraduate program of special education and undergraduate program of educational rehabilitation in Heilongjiang Province, the special journal of special education research, the university is the provincial special education teacher training base and the provincial special education art talent training base, and the chairman unit of the provincial special education professional committee. The university opened higher education for the disabled, and enrolled hearing-impaired students in computer science and technology, environmental design and e-commerce, filling the gap of higher education for the disabled in Heilongjiang Province.

The university actively serves local development. The university has built an innovation and entrepreneurship base for University students with Suihua Municipal Government to serve the construction of Suihua's "metropolis". In cooperation with Suihua Municipal Market Supervision Bureau, the university has built the largest food and drug inspection and testing center outside of Ha. Ltd. to build the "Modern Corn Industry University" and "Corn Industry Education and Training Union" to promote the development of regional industries. Through the Suihua Science and Technology Bureau, we provide free technical support to enterprises and institutions in the area, and carry out local scientific research through platforms such as the New Rural Construction Research Year and the Cold Black Earth Economy and Culture Research Institute. It has carried out university-county cooperation with Qing'an, Wangkui, Suiling and Lanxi to help the county with urban planning, tourism development and talent training. It has established an edible mushroom research institute, cultivated new varieties of edible mushrooms, completed technical research on cultivating edible mushrooms with crop straw, and driven the development of edible mushroom industries in Suiling and Qing'an counties. The university has also built a pottery art museum and an expert studio of paper-cutting art, and is devoted to the protection and inheritance of local intangible cultural heritage such as paper-cutting in Hailun, black pottery in Suiling, and shadow play in Wangkui.
