Shangrao Normal University
Shangrao Normal College is located in Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, which is known as the "superior, rich, and ecological capital", "eight sided thoroughfare", and "the first gateway to Yuzhang". Its predecessor was Shangrao Normal College, founded in 1958, renamed as Northeast Jiangxi University in 1959. In 1961, Shangrao Normal College was re established on the basis of Northeast Jiangxi University. It was suspended during the Cultural Revolution and reopened in 1977. In 2000, it was upgraded to Shangrao Normal College. Selected as a key supported institution in the Ministry of Education's Collaborative Quality Improvement Plan for Teacher Education in 2022. In 2024, it was successfully approved as a master's degree granting unit and underwent undergraduate education and teaching review and evaluation by the Ministry of Education in the same year. It was praised by evaluation experts as the "cradle rooted in the old areas of Jiangxi, serving as a highland for talent cultivation in Northeast Jiangxi, and a backbone of basic education teaching and management".
