

ShanghaiTech, established on September 30, 2013, is a young university with a modern residential campus in the heart of Shanghai Pudong’s Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park. On February 14, 2022, ShanghaiTech entered the list of China's World-Class Universities Project. With an academic focus on STEM research, ShanghaiTech is committed to serving China’s national challenges in economic and social development with the focus on science and technology, and nurturing the next generation of innovative scientists, inventors and entrepreneurs.
With the backing and support of Shanghai Municipal Government and Chinese Academy of Sciences, ShanghaiTech’s six schools and seven research institutes are committed to tackling the challenges that China and the world are facing in the fields of energy, materials, biology, environment, human health, information technology and mathematics.
ShanghaiTech invites outstanding students who are passionate in research from all over the world to work closely with faculty mentors at labs in summer or during the semester. Lab vacancies are available mainly in the study fields of School of Physical Science and Technology, School of Information Science and Technology and School of Life Science and Technology. We offer special summer research opportunities for visiting students from partner universities. In the past years, over 20 students from The University of Chicago, Yale University, Cornell University, University of Oxford have spent about a month doing research on campus and enjoying the vibrant city life of Shanghai. We also welcome visiting student through the academic exchange and cooperation between faculties and joint workshops and seminars at any agreed time of the year.
