ShangLuo Vocational and Technical College

Shangluo Vocational and Technical College was founded in 2005. It is a full-time public higher vocational college formed by the merger of the former Shangluo Normal School, the Municipal Health School, and the Municipal Technical School. Currently, it has two campuses: the main campus and the Technical School campus, covering an area of over 500 mu. It has nearly 700 faculty and staff, and has 11 teaching and research institutions including the School of Normal Education, the School of Nursing, the School of Medicine, and the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, as well as 3 affiliated units: the Experimental Middle School, the Experimental Kindergarten, and the Driver Training School. In June 2022, under the overall promotion of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, it was determined that the college would take the lead in building two national-level bases: the National Health and Wellness High-skilled Talents Training Base and the National High-skilled Talents Training Base. The Municipal Vocational Education Management Office was also set up in the college to actively promote the construction of the "1+8" new vocational education system and the "1+10+N" high-skilled talents training system, make every effort to integrate the city's vocational education resources, and cultivate and train more technical and skilled talents who meet social needs for the "Capital of Health and Wellness". The college currently offers 48 higher vocational majors in various categories such as medicine and nursing, education, mechanical and electrical engineering, architecture, and computer science. It has 288 on-campus and off-campus experimental and training rooms and bases, with a student population of 11,000, and its enrollment covers 24 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across the country. The Shangluo Vocational Education and Training Center, established by the Municipal Government in the college, has 7 provincial-level training bases and 18 municipal-level training bases, with nearly 7,600 students in academic continuing education. It carries out various online and offline vocational training and vocational skill appraisals for rural management talents, professional and technical personnel, etc., with over 20,000 person-times annually. The college is a provincial-level "Double High Plan" high-level professional group construction unit and has been awarded honorary titles such as the provincial-level "Civilized Campus" and "Safe Campus". In recent years, focusing on the reform requirements of modern vocational education system construction, the college has continuously deepened the connotation of industry-education integration, strived to expand school-enterprise cooperation in running schools, and solidly promoted school-enterprise collaborative education. It has successfully obtained one construction project each for the Southern Shaanxi Ecological Health and Wellness Industry-Education Integration Community, the provincial-level Municipal Ecological Health and Wellness Industry-Education Consortium, and the provincial-level Open Regional Industry-Education Integration Practice Center. It has been selected into 3 provincial-level professional teaching resource databases and vocational education first-class core curriculum construction lists. It has jointly established industrial colleges with more than 10 well-known enterprises and carried out "order-based class" training. It has jointly built 11 provincial-level skill master studios and model worker studios with enterprises and institutions such as Baoji Heli Forklift Co., Ltd., and established more than 130 off-campus training and practice bases with enterprises such as Schneider Electric and BYD Group, laying a solid foundation for cultivating more high-quality technical talents who are close to industrial needs.
