Shaanxi Institute of Mechatronic Technology was founded in 1986. It is a public full-time ordinary higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Shaanxi Province, affiliated to the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, and located in Baoji City, Shaanxi Province, which is known as the hometown of Emperor Yan, the land of bronze wares, and a major industrial town in western China. The school currently has 4 campuses: Baofu Campus, Panlong Campus, Qianhe Campus, and Xinfu Road Campus, covering a total area of 1,048 mu. It has 7 secondary colleges including the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, School of Electronic Information, School of Railway Engineering, School of Transportation, School of Digital Economics and Management, School of Railway Drivers, and School of Mechanical Engineering, as well as 2 teaching units including the School of Marxism and the Basic Department (Physical Education Department). It offers 40 majors such as Mechatronics Technology, Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation, Numerical Control Technology, Intelligent Control Technology, Industrial Robot Technology, Big Data Technology, Artificial Intelligence Technology Application, Railway Engineering Technology, Railway Signal Automatic Control, Urban Rail Transit Communication and Signal Technology, Intelligent Construction Technology, Engineering Cost, New Energy Vehicle Technology, UAV Application Technology, Big Data and Accounting, and Network Marketing and Live E-commerce. The school has more than 700 faculty members and over 12,000 full-time students.
