

Shaanxi College of Communication Technology is a public higher vocational college run by the People's Government of Shaanxi Province. It is committed to cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents in transportation. Its predecessor was the Training Class for Cadres of the Transportation Department of the People's Government of Shaanxi Province, established in 1952. It was renamed Shaanxi Provincial Transportation School in 1956, upgraded to a higher vocational college and renamed Shaanxi College of Communication Technology in 2001, and transferred from the Provincial Department of Transportation to the Provincial Department of Education for management in 2011, implementing a co-construction mechanism by the Provincial Department of Education and the Provincial Department of Transportation. The college currently has four campuses: Wenjing, Ziqiang, Tongyuan and Taibai. The total construction area of the college is 473,200 square meters, with a total asset value of 1.77 billion yuan. The library has more than 900,000 paper books and more than 180,000 e-books. It has 3 national productive training bases, 1 school-enterprise collaborative technology innovation center, 3 training bases supported by the central finance, 5 provincial training bases, 5 provincial off-campus practice teaching bases, 1 national vocational education demonstration virtual simulation training base cultivation project, 5 virtual simulation training centers, 149 laboratories and training rooms, 589 off-campus training bases, and 1 college students' innovation and entrepreneurship education center. The college currently has teaching units such as the School of Highway Engineering, the School of Railway Engineering, the School of Architecture and Surveying Engineering, the School of Intelligent Automobile Manufacturing, the School of Automobile Application Engineering, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Rail Technology, the School of Railway Transportation, the School of Transportation Information, the School of Marxism, the School of General Education, the School of Physical Education, and the School of Continuing Education and International Exchange. It offers a total of 46 full-time vocational majors and 33 adult education majors.
