SHANDONG VOCATIONAL COLLEGE OF LIGHT INDUSTRY

The school established the first vocational college-level heritage culture college in Shandong Province - Shandong Light Industry Heritage Culture College. It is a pilot university for the "teacher-student mentoring" training model for Shandong Province's heritage culture inheritors. It has initiated two vocational education skills and techniques inheritance and innovation platforms, namely Fiber Art and Traditional Dyeing and Weaving, and Batik. It has created numerous heritage culture creative brands such as "Qing You Fang", "Silk Rhythm", and "Qi Wei". The school follows the basic concept of "project + major" and conducts academic research on heritage culture techniques, special discussions, training and study, and creative development. It aims to cultivate unique aesthetic and skilled heritage culture technical talents. The "San Zhuo Yi Xiang" museum has been awarded as a national excellent industrial heritage protection and utilization demonstration case. The Qing You Fang plant dyeing silk traditional Chinese style creative works were showcased at the China International Cultural Tourism Expo and the 8th National Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo, receiving favorable reviews.

The school's second Party members' congress determined the main goals for the school's development in the next five years: to accelerate the establishment of a domestic first-class and internationally influential high-level vocational college with digital fashion as the main feature. The focus will be on achieving new leaps in areas such as party building, professional group cultivation, moral education and talent cultivation, teacher teams, industry-education integration, school governance capabilities, and characteristic cultural brands. To create a "seven modernized new light college" with distinctive features, eagerness for learning, talent aggregation, openness and diversity, integrated education and training, vitality, and civilized and harmonious fashion. The school strives to provide strong talent support for the construction of a socialist modernized city in the new era. On this basis, the school's Party committee, based on the present and looking to the future, has proposed a "three-step strategy" of sprinting for national "Double High" status, professional promotion to undergraduate, and school promotion to undergraduate. The school adheres to the concept of open education, establishing the Zibo Open University and the Zibo Elderly Open University. It focuses on meeting the diverse learning needs of the public and is accelerating the construction of a high-quality lifelong learning education system. It actively builds wide-ranging and multi-level international exchange and cooperation platforms, establishing friendly cooperative relations with 30 universities in 14 countries (regions), including Russia, Italy, Japan, and France. It has jointly established two classes of the "Bianmo College". In November 2024, the Cambodia-Bianmo College (Lu Tai Group) of Shandong Vocational and Technical College was officially inaugurated, marking a solid step forward in the school's strategy of vocational education going global and its internationalization pace. Five overseas talent cultivation bases have been established. It collaborates with multiple universities in Russia, Japan, and South Korea to jointly establish Chinese-foreign cooperative education programs and undergraduate-to-graduate integrated training projects. It annually funds outstanding students to study abroad in foreign universities and recruits outstanding foreign students to study in China, striving to create a new model of internationalized vocational education.
