Qiqihar Medical University is located in the world-famous hometown of red-crowned cranes, beside the scenic Nenjiang River. The college was founded in 1946, and has gone through a glorious course of 75 years. College is a national civilized unit and one of the top ten harmonious campuses in Heilongjiang Province. It is the first batch of pilot universities of the excellent doctor education and training program project of Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health and the characteristic application-oriented undergraduate demonstration university of Heilongjiang Province. It is the training base of Chinese doctors' humanistic medicine practice skills and the medical education management center of Heilongjiang Province.

School-based planning covers an area of about 1.1 million square meters, with a building area of 286,000 square meters. The total value of fixed assets is 1.167 billion yuan, and the total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 320 million yuan. At present, there are 14,895 graduate students, general education students, international students, adult education students and other students. At present, there are 5,730 teachers and medical staff, including 1,300 deputy higher vocational students. There are 414 full-time teachers in our college, including deputy higher vocational college or above, accounting for 56.6% of the total full-time teachers. There are 634 people with doctoral and master's degrees, accounting for 86.7% of the total full-time teachers. At present, there are 4 vice-chairmen and members of the Chinese Medical Association and the Teaching Steering Committee of Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, 12 experts who enjoy the special allowance of the State Council and the provincial government, 24 provincial leaders of leading talents echelon, professional and technical second-class post experts of provincial institutions and provincial famous teachers, and 59 young and middle-aged experts who have made outstanding contributions to the provincial health system.

The University has 24 teaching and teaching auxiliary institutions and 25 undergraduate majors, covering 5 disciplines such as medicine, science, engineering, management and law. Among them, psychiatry and nursing are national first-class undergraduate specialty construction points, and six majors including clinical medicine, psychiatry, pharmacy, nursing, clinical pharmacy and preventive medicine are provincial first-class undergraduate specialty construction points. It has provincial-level boutique online open courses, 8 provincial-level online and offline mixed first-class undergraduate courses, 3 provincial-level experimental teaching demonstration centers, 3 provincial-level talent training innovation experimental areas, 3 provincial-level teaching teams and 3 provincial-level A-class research teams of educational science. The college has passed the clinical medicine professional certification, nursing professional certification and undergraduate teaching audit evaluation of the Ministry of Education.

The University has 2 first-class disciplines for granting master's degree, 27 provincial key disciplines, provincial leading talent echelon and municipal leading talent echelon. There are provincial key laboratories, provincial engineering technology research centers, provincial technology transfer demonstration institutions, provincial school-enterprise co-construction engineering technology centers, provincial university key laboratories, Post-Doctoral Research Center, academician expert workstations, Qiqihar Academy of Medical Sciences, health inspection center and other scientific research institutions. In recent years, the college has won 1,144 scientific research projects of various kinds and 297 awards. Sponsored Chinese Journal of Modern Nursing, Neuropathy and Mental Health, Journal of Qiqihar Medical College, all of which are publicly issued in China.

The University has 4 affiliated hospitals directly under the central government, 7 non-affiliated hospitals directly under the central government and clinical pathological diagnosis centers directly under the central government, as well as 29 teaching hospitals and 100 practice bases. The affiliated hospitals have 14,600 beds, which can well meet the needs of clinical teaching and production practice. In recent years, the college has vigorously promoted the construction of academic hospitals, implemented in-depth collaboration between doctors and education, and comprehensively promoted the integrated development of doctors, teaching and research in affiliated medical institutions. The affiliated hospitals directly under the three hospitals are all Class-A hospitals, which have been approved to become national standardized training bases for residents, national clinical pharmacists, national standardized certification hospitals for respiratory and critical care medicine (PCCM), national multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment pilot hospitals for tumors (digestive system), diagnosis and treatment sub-center for pulmonary nodules of China Lung Cancer Prevention and Control Alliance, national clinical research sub-center for respiratory diseases, national standard chest pain center certification unit, national standardized metabolic disease management center certification unit and the first batch in China.
