North China Institute of Science and Technology (NISTP) is a university directly under the Ministry of Emergency Management. 1955 It was assigned to the Ministry of Coal and renamed the Cadre School of the Ministry of Coal Industry. In 1982, it was upgraded to Beijing Coal Management Cadre Institute; In 1984, the Branch of Beijing Coal Management Cadre Institute was established in Yanjiao. In 1993, it was transformed into an ordinary university and renamed north China Mining College. In 2002, it was upgraded to a regular undergraduate university and renamed North China Institute of Science and Technology. In 2011, I obtained the postgraduate training qualification of master of Engineering (safety engineering).

The university takes serving and supporting the emergency management cause of major countries as its first orientation. Adhering to the principle of emergency management, public security and serving the economy and society, the university strives to build the highland of talent training, scientific and technological innovation and education training to serve the needs of emergency management. Gradually, the university has formed the highland of undergraduate education. The university is located in Yanjiao National High-tech Development Zone, Hebei Province, adjacent to the sub-center of Beijing city, covering an area of 800 mu and a building area of 450,000 square meters. The university now has 1 national engineering practice education center, 5 key laboratories of ministries and commissions, 5 provincial key laboratories, experimental teaching demonstration center, education innovation highland, etc. The library has a collection of 1.48 million paper books, 1.46 million electronic books and 39 databases in both Chinese and foreign languages. Modern educational technology is widely used in teaching, research and training, and the university is the city node unit of China Education research network.

The university consists of 14 secondary colleges and 2 departments, with about 17,000 full-time students. There are 56 undergraduate programs covering eight disciplines: engineering, science, arts, law, economics, management, education and art. It has 3 national characteristic specialties, 1 excellent course, 3 pilot specialties of "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education, 7 provincial key disciplines, key development disciplines and brand characteristic specialties. In 2019, safety Engineering was selected as one of the national First-class undergraduate programs.

The school has a rigorous teaching staff. At present, the university has more than 1,000 full-time teachers, of whom professors and associate professors account for nearly 50%, and teachers with doctoral and master degrees account for nearly 90%. There are 7 academicians flexibly introduced by the university, 5 recipients of special government allowance, 3 national candidates of the New Century talents Project, 6 national Talents Support Plan of the Ministry of Education, 8 national production safety emergency experts, 4 provincial outstanding teachers, outstanding educators and outstanding teachers. In the past five years, more than 800 new scientific research projects have been approved, including 3 national Key RESEARCH and development Programs, 2 national Social Science Foundation projects (including 1 key project), and 27 National Natural Science Foundation projects, with a total research funding of 383 million YUAN. It has won 62 provincial and ministerial science and technology achievement awards (including national industry associations), among which, "Key technology for prediction and Prevention of Water Inrush Disaster in deep Mining of Coal Mine" won the Second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, and "Research on Pushing and Anchoring and Multiple Supporting System of Large section Coal Roadway in Extremely thick Coal Seam" won the first prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Hebei Province. Teachers published 277 academic papers indexed by EI, SCI and CSSCI. It has obtained 135 invention patents and published more than 40 monographs.

The China-Latvia "Belt and Road" Academic Exchange Center is located in the university to carry out teacher-student exchanges and scientific research cooperation.

The university has long undertaken the cadre training business entrusted by the competent authorities in work safety, disaster prevention, mitigation and relief, emergency management, etc. Relying on its training advantages, the university has built the North China Base of National Work Safety Supervision, Supervision and Law Enforcement Comprehensive Training (with an investment of 100 million yuan). In cooperation with Jingmei Group, the national production safety accident pre-control and emergency treatment technology experimental training and popular science base is being built (300 million yuan investment). 170 online and offline training courses on safety and emergency response have been completed, and 57 are under construction (with an investment of 20 million yuan).
