Ningxia College of Finance And Economics was founded in 1958 and is affiliated to the Department of Education of the Autonomous Region. It is a national demonstration higher vocational college, a pilot unit for modern apprenticeship system of the Ministry of Education, and a national experimental school for digital campus construction in vocational colleges. It is one of the first batch of community members of the professional co-construction project for vocational colleges supported by the Information Technology and Resources Development Center of the Ministry of Education (Central Institute of Educational Technology), a key unit of the national demonstration work on domestic waste classification and resource recycling in public institutions, a construction unit of high-level higher vocational schools in the autonomous region, a high-quality junior college in the autonomous region, and a civilized campus in the autonomous region. A model school for "Internet + Education" in the autonomous region, strengthening the awareness of the Chinese nation as a community, and law-based school governance, one of the first batch of comprehensive reform pilot units for "all-round education" in the autonomous region, a pilot unit for total personnel management in colleges and universities in the autonomous region, one of the first batch of demonstration universities for Party building work in colleges and universities in the autonomous region, a benchmark school for digital campus in vocational colleges in Ningxia, and the chairing unit of the Ningxia Modern Service Vocational Education Group. The school covers an area of 577 mu and has a building area of 110,000 square meters. It has established a national-level production-oriented training base and a "dual-qualified" teacher training base, as well as the Ningxia Modern Business and Trade Vocational Skills Public Training Center, the Smart Finance and Economics Public Training Center, and a cross-disciplinary training platform. It has been included in the autonomous region's ideological and political course teacher research and training base, a demonstration continuing education base, and a community education demonstration base. There are 100 smart classrooms, 52 on-campus training rooms, 9 multi-functional professional study rooms, 2,600 on-campus training workstations, and 76 off-campus internship and training bases. The library houses 500,000 volumes of paper books.

At present, there are 5,847 students on campus. The school has 26 internal institutions (including 11 administrative departments, 4 teaching support departments, 9 teaching institutions and 2 mass organizations). There are 331 staff members in the whole school, among whom 248 are full-time teachers, including 12 professors and 61 associate professors. There are 11 doctoral students (including those currently pursuing a doctorate), and 57.4% of them have a master's degree. The proportion of "dual-qualified" teachers is 53.78%. The teacher innovation Team of the Big Data and Accounting Major (Group) has been included in the third batch of national vocational education teacher innovation team project (cultivation) construction units. There are 7 provincial-level master teacher studios, 4 provincial-level master head teacher (counselor) studios, 13 provincial-level teaching masters, and 5 provincial-level high-end accounting talents. There are five candidates for the Ningxia Youth Philosophy, Social Sciences and Arts and Culture Talent Support Program. Three teaching masters under the "Ten Thousand Talents Program" in vocational colleges.

The university has 9 teaching units, namely the School of Finance and Accounting, the School of Finance, the School of Management, the School of Information and Intelligent Engineering, the School of Culture and Tourism, the School of Economics and Trade, the School of Marxism, the School of General Education, and the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. It offers 34 majors for enrollment It covers eight major professional categories, including finance and business, electronic information, culture and art, tourism, education and sports, civil engineering and architecture, public administration and services, and agriculture. Ten major professional clusters have been formed, namely big data and Accounting, tax and finance big data application, modern property management, marketing, international economics and trade, e-commerce, financial services and management, computer application technology, smart tourism, and cultural and Artistic design. Among them, there are 2 national demonstration specialties, 5 national backbone specialties, 1 industry-education integration specialty of the Talent Exchange Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, 4 backbone demonstration specialties of the autonomous region, and 2 high-level specialty clusters of the autonomous region. The school actively promotes the reform of the enrollment system and implements an examination and enrollment system that combines regular college entrance examination enrollment, classified examinations and independent enrollment. The employment rate of graduates has remained consistently above 96%.

The school actively responds to the East-West Cooperation Action Plan for vocational education and has carried out targeted assistance and cooperation with Fuzhou Polytechnic in areas such as Party building and ideological and political work, professional construction, faculty team building, and skills competitions. The school actively participates in the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas, holding demonstration training sessions for village-level financial management personnel throughout the district, achieving full coverage of 193 towns and villages.
