Nanjing University of Science and Technology ZiJin College was founded in 1999. In 2004, it was restructured into an independent undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of Education, co-founded by Nanjing University of Science and Technology in conjunction with social forces. Nanjing University of Science and Technology is a national key university affiliated to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China. It has a rigorous academic atmosphere, a strong faculty, a complete range of disciplines, and distinct school-running characteristics. It is among the first batch of universities listed in the "211 Project", "985 Project Advantageous Discipline Innovation Platform" and "Double First-Class" construction initiatives. Following the development idea of coordinated progress in "scale, structure, quality, and efficiency", the college has continuously expanded its school-running scope, forming a development layout of "one college, two campuses". The Xianlin Campus is located in the Xianlin University Town at the foot of the Purple Mountain in the eastern part of Nanjing, covering an area of 613 mu. At present, nearly 300,000 square meters of teaching and living buildings have been completed, with complete teaching and living facilities. The smart campus system is continuously upgraded, providing excellent conditions for students' academic development and healthy growth.
Xianlin University Town is home to 12 universities including Nanjing University and Nanjing Normal University. It boasts beautiful natural scenery and a strong cultural atmosphere, and is more than ten kilometers away from the city center. Nanjing Metro Line 2 connects Xianlin University Town and Nanjing University of Science and Technology directly to the city center. The college operates daily shuttle buses between its campus and Nanjing University of Science and Technology, with a one-way trip taking only 25 minutes. The first phase of the project, which has been put into use, covers an area of 312 mu with a total construction area of approximately 162,000 square meters.
