

Nanjing Audit University is the only full-time general undergraduate college named after "auditing". It is one of the birthplaces of auditing higher education in our country. The school was founded in 1983 and was renamed Nanjing Audit College in 1987. It was merged into Nanjing Finance College in 2002. In 2011, it became a university jointly built by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, the National Audit Office and the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government. In 2015, the current name was approved by the Ministry of Education.
In 38 years of school-running practice, the school has always adhered to the original intention of serving the audit business, followed the school-running philosophy of "characteristics, quality, and internationalization", and practiced the school motto of "integrity, seeking truth, dedication, and publicity". Passing through wind and rain has developed into a cradle for auditing talent training, a base for auditing scientific research, a think tank for the development of auditing, and a window for international auditing exchanges.
The school currently has more than 18,000 full-time undergraduates, postgraduates, and international students; more than 1,100 full-time teachers, including 185 full-time professional titles, 731 doctoral degree holders, and 273 postgraduate tutors. It has two campuses in Pukou and Mochou. , Covers an area of 1.2 million square meters. The Party School of the Audit Office of the Communist Party of China and the Audit Cadre Education College of the Audit Office are located on the Pukou campus.
The school has established a discipline and professional system with auditing as its brand, economics, management, law, engineering, arts and sciences and other disciplines supporting each other and developing in coordination. In 2011, it was approved as the first batch of audit master degree authorization units in the country. In 2013, it was approved as a master degree (academic degree) authorization unit. In 2017, it became a new doctoral degree-granting unit in Jiangsu Province to establish a project construction university. There are currently 7 first-level disciplines authorized for master's degree (business administration, theoretical economics, applied economics, law, statistics, computer science and technology, public management), and 8 master's degree authorization points (auditing, accounting, finance, Business administration, international business, law, applied statistics, electronic information); 2 superior disciplines in Jiangsu universities (business administration, applied economics), 1 key (cultivation) discipline in Jiangsu Province (theoretical economics) and key construction in Jiangsu Province 5 disciplines (public administration, statistics, computer science and technology, mathematics, Marxist theory); in the fourth round of national discipline evaluation, the first-level discipline evaluation result of business administration is B; the first postgraduate program in Jiangsu Province in 2020 In the comprehensive evaluation of education work, he was awarded A grade.
The school has 18 colleges (teaching departments) including the Government Audit School and the School of Accounting, and 5 characteristic research institutes including the Central Internal Audit School, the Fortune Central Audit School, and the Economic and Financial Research Institute; the establishment of Runyuan, Zeyuan, Chengyuan, Qinyuan Academy explores the "dual academy" education model of academies and colleges. Since the establishment of the school, nearly 70,000 full-time graduates have been trained, and nearly half of them are engaged in auditing and economic supervision. As the undertaking unit of the "Chinese Government Audit Scholarship" project jointly established by the National Audit Office and the Ministry of Education, and the undertaking unit of the "Foreign Aid Academic Degree Education" of the Ministry of Commerce, the school recruits and trains postgraduates in auditing majors from countries along the "Belt and Road". In January, 2018, Nanjing Audit University (NAU) founded its International School in the aim of introducing foreign quality educational resources and top-notch teachers, continuously upgrading the level of internationalization in talent cultivation, enhancing teaching and research strength, and reinforcing the ability to serve society and develop the audit cause.
In April, 2020, the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China approved the establishment of the International Joint Audit Institute that is jointly organized by NAU and SKEMA Business School of France. This institute is under Sino-foreign cooperative running with non-independent legal person to carry out undergraduate education.
In April 2021, NAU decided to integrate its international education resources and appoint the International School to take on all international education related matters while maintained the setup of the International Joint Audit Institute and the School of International Exchange under the International School. This move is a decision made on the standing committee of NAU’s party committee in the light of the spirits of the related documents issued by the superior authorities and the new needs for the university cause development urged in the 14th Five-Year Plan. The aim is to better promote the superlative development of the university and provide organizational guarantee for the construction of a distinctive top-ranking university.
The International School makes an overall planning of NAU’s internationalized education. In 2019, it signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Chinses Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) to co-organize the international undergraduate program. Now this program offers the ten majors of accounting & auditing, accounting & finance, economics & finance, business analysis & management, fashion management, education (preschool education), pedagogy, English teaching (TESOL), media studies and computer science that are classified into the four categories of business, education, media and computer for choice of students.
The International Joint Audit Institute works on the Sino-French cooperative "4+0" undergraduate cultivation program and is committed to cultivating high-level international audit talents with global vision and national sentiment, knowledge of international auditing standards, remarkable intercultural communication skills, innovation, collaboration and team spirit, as well as global competitiveness in the new era. Four majors of auditing (internal audit direction), financial engineering (financial audit direction), engineering management (engineering audit direction) and information management & information system (big data audit direction) are currently offered.
The School of International Exchange is qualified to enroll international students of varying backgrounds to study in China with the backing of Chinese government scholarships, special scholarships offered by various ministries and commissions, Jiangsu provincial government scholarships and Nanjing municipal government scholarships. It is in charge of the enrollment, cultivation and daily management of undergraduate and postgraduate international students studying in 15 majors including auditing, accounting, economics, international trade, etc. and puts priority on the cultivation of postgraduate students studying in China under the “Chinese Government Audit Scholarship Program” of the National Audit Office and the Ministry of Education and the “Foreign Aid Training Degree Program” of the Ministry of Commerce.
