NINGXIA POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY
Ningxia Polytechnic University of Business and Technology (NINGXIA POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY) is a full-time public general higher education institution with the qualification to enroll students in higher education, approved by the People's Government of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and filed with the Ministry of Education. It is affiliated with the Autonomous Region Education Department and is one of the first hundred national key higher vocational colleges, as well as a pilot institution for the second batch of the Ministry of Education's modern apprenticeship system.
The university was founded in 1951, with its predecessor being Ningxia Institute of Business and Technology. In October 2002, with the approval of the Autonomous Region People's Government and the filing by the Ministry of Education, the original Ningxia Commercial School, Grain School, and Supply and Marketing School underwent the first round of three-school integration to form Ningxia Institute of Economics and Trade. In September 2006, upon approval by the Autonomous Region People's Government and registration with the Ministry of Education, the institute was renamed Ningxia Polytechnic Institute of Business and Technology. In June 2025, Ningxia Polytechnic University of Business and Technology was officially approved by the Ministry of Education to be established as a public undergraduate-level vocational university. On October 10, the university formally upgraded and was officially listed.
As of February 2025, the university covers an area of 1,305.93 mu, with a total building area of 258,300 square meters, fixed assets of 1.118 billion yuan, and teaching and research equipment valued at over 200 million yuan. The library holds 1,231,100 volumes. The university has eight secondary schools, offering 43 higher vocational programs. It employs 651 faculty and staff members and has over 8,200 full-time students enrolled.
