It is the only undergraduate university in Lishui, lishui university, and it is a full-time general undergraduate university managed by the provincial and municipal government. The history of running a school can be traced back to Chuzhou Normal School founded in 1907 under the guidance of the master of classics, Mr. Sun Yirang. It has gone through nine times of renaming, six schools merging, and four changes of school address. In 2003, when Xi Jinping, then secretary of Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, inspected our school, he instructed to "make great efforts to build lishui university". In 2004, approved by the Ministry of Education, it was upgraded and renamed as lishui university. The school has successively passed the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation and undergraduate teaching work audit evaluation of the Ministry of Education, and has been listed as the project construction unit for awarding master's degree in the 13th Five-Year Plan of Zhejiang Province and the pilot demonstration school for application-oriented construction. Cooperating with gavle University College in Sweden to hold nursing undergraduate major has become one of the few newly-built local undergraduate colleges approved to carry out Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools.
