Liaoning University of Technology

Founded in 1951, Liaoning University of Technology (LUT) is a provincial university of higher learning. It is a multifaceted university with engineering as its specialty, as well as offering instruction in science, liberal arts, economics, and management studies. Presently it serves over 14,000 undergraduates and 578 postgraduates.

LUT has 18 colleges and faculties. Forty-seven undergraduate specialties and forty-four post-graduate specialties are offered, which includes 7 first level master degrees and 37 second class master degrees covering 9 fields of authorized Engineering master degree, 13 higher vocational college specialties. LUT has 3 national key laboratories, provincial key laboratories, 5 central and local co-founded laboratories of preponderant discipline and 2 provincial research centers of engineering technology.

LUT has a team of 1, 278 staff members. Among the 780 fulltime teachers, there are 148 professors, 300 associate professors, one course leader recognized by the Provincial Ministry of Education, 57 university-level course leaders, academic leaders and excellent young core teachers. Our professors have proven a record of doing strong scientific research. In the past five years, they have completed more than  500 scientific research projects; and have received 25 awards at the provincial level and published over 4, 000 academic theses, 110 of which were incorporated in three important international document searches.

According to the demands decided by the changing global market, LUT focuses on improving students' overall understanding of the world around them and improving students' creative and practical abilities. The highly qualified LUT graduates have been welcomed by all professions, and in recent years, the rate of employment has been over 98 percent.

The School of International Education at LUT is in charge of international cooperation, recruitment and management of international students. LUT has carried out international exchange and cooperation since 1985. In recent years, the university has established numerous exchange programs with more than 20 foreign universities. LUT sends students to the USA, Germany, UK, Korea, Singapore, Japan and Australia. International students can get graduation certificates and bachelor’s degrees, as well as master's degrees. So far, we have had students from the US, Korea, Japan, Slovenia, and Pakistan. Our Chinese Training Centre offers free Chinese lessons for all degree students. In order to give students a broader knowledge about Chinese culture, we also arrange classes like Kung Fu, Calligraphy, and Traditional Chinese Musical Instruments.

The LUT campus is one of the “Garden Units” in Liaoning. The student residence is comfortable, orderly, full of cultural atmosphere and convenient for shopping and traveling. The cafeterias on campus serve different styles of food and are greatly enjoyed by our students and staff.

After years’ endeavor, LUT has established unique campus tradition and accumulated valuable spiritual wealth. Nowadays, all the teachers and members of LUT are working hard to make our university stronger by reform and development with our enthusiasm to achieve a provincial first class university known by the whole nation and to contribute ourselves to the national and local development of our society.
