Kunming Vocational University of Science and Technology (English name: Kunming Vocational University of Science And Technology) is located in Kunming, Yunnan Province. It is a private higher vocational undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, supervised by the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education, and operated by Yunnan Hanke Education Investment Co., Ltd. The school originated from a training class established in 1997 by Xiao Wei, who worked at Yunnan Normal University, leveraging the strength of the Management Science Department of Yunnan Normal University and Kunming Southwest Adult Education Training School. In March 1998, Yunnan Business Management Advanced Training Institute was approved for establishment. In 2001, the school was relocated to Yalong University Student City, No. 4 Hongshan East Road, Kunming. In May 2005, the school was upgraded to a regular secondary vocational school and renamed "Yunnan Shida Business Management School." In June 2008, Yunnan Economic and Trade Foreign Affairs Vocational College was registered with the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and established as the Yunnan Sa Management Advanced Training College (Resource) [8], and the school was fully relocated to the Haikou campus. In July 2019, the foundation was laid and construction began on the Yanglin Campus. In April 2023, the school's Haikou campus was basically relocated to the Yanglin campus for operations. On February 11, 2026, the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China approved the establishment of Kunming Science and Technology Vocational University based on Yunnan Vocational College of Economics, Trade and Foreign Affairs, and simultaneously abolished the university's structure.
As of March 2026, Kunming Vocational University of Science and Technology covers an area of 1,008.8 mu, with a building area of over 350,000 square meters; it has more than 900 faculty and staff members and 10,200 full-time students enrolled; The total value of instruments and equipment exceeds 113 million yuan, and it owns 1.2613 million books.
