Kaili University

Kaili University （KLU is for short）is located in Kaili City, the capital of Southeastern Guizhou Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, known as the "state of forest, state of singing and dancing, and state of wonders". KLU originated from Qiandongnan University established in 1958. The name of the school has undergone several changes. In 2006, it was upgraded to a general undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. Since its promotion, the school has completed the construction and relocation of the new campus, passed the evaluation of the bachelor's degree awarding in 2010, and evaluation of the undergraduate teaching by the Ministry of Education in 2015.

The school campus covers an area of 1.1061 million square meters, with a building area of 325,000 square meters; the total value of teaching and research equipment is 124 million yuan, and the collection of paper books is 1.084 million copies and more than 3.82 million e-books; there are 11444 full-time students and 132 international students; 934 faculty members, including 114 professors, 342 associate professors, and 115 PHD.

KLU has 50 undergraduate majors and ethnic minority preparatory courses, 1 national comprehensive reform Pilot major, 2 provincial characteristic majors, 8 provincial comprehensive reform majors, 3 provincial excellent talent training program majors, and 1 provincial first-class major; 1 first-class construction and cultivation discipline in Guizhou Province, 8 provincial-level  key disciplines; 2 characteristic key laboratories, 3 experimental teaching demonstration centers, 1 collaborative innovation center, and 1 Humanities & Social Sciences research base, 1 provincial academician workstation, 1 ethnic ancient book research base, 1 ethnic-Chinese bilingual service base.

The faculty of KLU have successively applied 868 scientific research projects, including 51 national self-science fund and social science fund projects, 264 provincial and ministerial projects; published 184 monographs and textbooks, and published 1563 papers in scientific research core journals. Among them, 230 papers are published in CSSCI, 133 are published in SCI/EI and other international authoritative academic documents; 54 provincial and ministerial scientific research achievement awards, 105 departmental scientific research achievement awards, 73 national authorized patents.

KLU adheres to open education and has established international student exchange programs and college student summer camp programs with many foreign universities such as University of the West, Hiroshima University, Woosong University, Stroganov Moscow State Academy of Arts and Industry, Suranaree University of Technology in Thailand, Chiang Mai University, University Malaysia Sabah and Asia Euro University.

According to the official website of the University in January 2019, the university has a total of 935 faculty members, 109 staff with senior titles (including 1 level II professor and 6 level III professors), 112 doctoral students, 342 master's students, 11 state management experts, 12 state-level top-notch talents, 56 "ten hundred thousand" talents above the state level, 1 national model teacher, 2 famous teachers of provincial colleges and universities There are 1 provincial excellent teacher, 1 provincial advanced worker, 4 academic leaders of philosophy and Social Sciences in provincial colleges and universities, 45 teachers have been employed as part-time master directors of Central University for nationalities, Guizhou University for nationalities, Jinan University and other schools, and 1 provincial teaching team [7].
