Jiujiang Polytechnic University of Science and Technology

The university is a non-profit private higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Jiangxi Province and registered by the Ministry of Education in 2012. In 2025, it will be upgraded to an undergraduate level vocational university and renamed Jiujiang Vocational University of Science and Technology. Located in the country's famous "youth entrepreneurship city", "the pearl by the Poyang Lake, the famous city on the Beijing-Kowloon line".

The school has two campuses, Ganlu and Gaoxin, covering an area of 972,600 square meters, including 919,300 square meters for education and 53,300 square meters for industry. The building area of the school is 468,700 square meters, including 413,500 square meters for education and 55,200 square meters for industry. As of December 2024, the total value of the school's assets was $1.547 billion. By August 2025, the total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment was 174 million yuan. There were 1.632 million volumes of book resources, including 979,200 printed books and 1,303,700 electronic books.

The university consists of 10 secondary teaching units, such as Maritime College, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering College, Information Engineering College, Economics and Management College, Architecture and Hydraulic Engineering College, Education and Art College, Nursing and Health College, Marxism College, Innovation and Entrepreneurship College and Public Education Department. It offers 4 undergraduate majors and 46 junior college majors, including Marine engineering technology, Marine technology, mechanical and electronic engineering technology and software engineering technology, with more than 11,000 students.

The school has achieved remarkable results in running schools. It has been approved as "5A Level Unit of China Social Organization Evaluation", "A level school of Ideological and Political Work Quality Evaluation of provincial colleges and universities", "Provincial Postdoctoral Innovation practice base", and "A level (Excellent) school" in the three annual inspection and evaluation of private higher vocational colleges organized by the Department of Education in the past five years. For 8 consecutive years, the school has been rated as the advanced Unit of maintaining stability in the Communist Youth City and the advanced unit of comprehensive management of social security, and has been awarded the "Contribution Award for Supporting Local Development" by the Communist Youth City government for 3 consecutive years. With distinctive shipping features, the school is the only institution of higher learning in Jiangxi Province that has been approved by the Maritime Safety Administration of the People's Republic of China to have the "qualification for training sea-going ship crew", and the only school that has been awarded the title of "five-star Crew Training School" for five consecutive years among the nine provinces and two cities in the Yangtze River area. It is also the characteristic and high-quality crew education and training base in Jiangxi Province. Awarded "the most trusted training school for crew" and "Yangtze River Good Crew Team". In the area under the jurisdiction of the Yangtze River Maritime Safety Administration, the pass rate of the examination ranks first and third in the country.
