Jiangsu Union Technical Institute
Jiangsu United Vocational and Technical College is an independent junior college of higher learning, which was established in June 2003 with the approval of the provincial government and the record of the Ministry of Education. It is a public institution directly under the Jiangsu Education Department. The college implements the running mode of "small college, big school", under which there are several higher vocational and technical schools as branches of the college, and a number of learning points.
The main functions of Jiangsu United Vocational and technical College are: coordinating and assisting higher vocational and technical schools to formulate development plans; To coordinate the annual enrollment plan for 5-year students of higher vocational and technical schools; To organize higher vocational and technical schools to carry out educational and teaching exchanges, cooperation and research; To coordinate the major construction of higher vocational and technical schools and the sharing of teaching resources between schools; To be responsible for the school status management and graduation certificate issuance of 5-year students in higher vocational and technical schools.
At present, the college consists of 53 branches, including Nanjing Engineering Branch, 36 learning points, including Jiangsu Drama School, and 4 normal colleges, totaling 93 schools. It has 18 major categories, more than 170 five-year higher vocational majors, and more than 700 specialized points, with 200,000 five-year higher vocational students. The College has more than 3,200 on-campus training bases and nearly 3,000 off-campus training bases. Nearly 50 schools have carried out international exchanges and cooperation, with more than 110 cooperation and exchange projects covering 19 countries and regions. Actively carry out vocational skills appraisal work, vigorously promote the "double certificate system", strive to enable students to obtain both graduation certificate and vocational skills certificate upon graduation, enhance employment competitiveness. The college has actively implemented the "order-type" talent training mode and established a stable employment base. In recent years, the employment rate has maintained at more than 95%, and many majors have graduates in short supply.
