

Inner Mongolia Normal University (formerly Inner Mongolia Normal College) is the earliest higher education institution established by the Party and the State in the frontier ethnic areas after the founding of New China, the key university of the autonomous region, the institution supported by the National Plan for Revitalization of Higher Education in Central and Western China and the Ministry of Education's Plan to Support Higher Education Institutions in Western Regions. "On November 20, 1951, the People's Government of the autonomous region decided to build Inner Mongolia Normal College in Ulaanbaatar City and enrolled students in 1952, and in August 1954, the college moved westward to Hohhot City and merged with Inner Mongolia Normal College, which was formed in August 1953 by merging Zhangjiakou Teachers College and Suiyuan Teachers College. In 1978, the school started to enroll graduate students, and in 1982, it was renamed Inner Mongolia Normal University and was listed as a key university in the autonomous region. After several generations of hard work and exploration, the university has become an important base for training teachers in basic education, a center for training teachers in basic education, a center for continuing education of primary and secondary school teachers, and a research center for reform and development of basic education.
The school has Saihan Campus and Shengle Campus, covering a total area of 2.228 million square meters, with a building area of 960,000 square meters, and fixed assets worth more than 3.48 billion yuan, including teaching instruments and equipment worth more than 720 million yuan. There are more than 2.76 million books in the collection and more than 2.33 million e-books and e-journals. Over the past 70 years, the university has trained and delivered more than 280,000 graduates with the motto of "dedication, pragmatism, unity and progress". In 2009, the school was approved as a master's degree training unit for Chinese international education. The school has employed nearly 500 famous experts and scholars from home and abroad, including seven academicians and five academic members, as academic advisors, visiting professors and part-time professors.

Inner Mongolia Normal University was established in April 2003. The College is one of the first 200 institutions nationwide recognized by the Ministry of Education to be qualified to accept foreign students. On the one hand, the College recruits and cultivates foreign students, and at the same time, it carries out Sino-foreign cooperation to cultivate complex and international talents according to the demand for talents in China and the autonomous region.
The college has established cooperation and exchange relations with some institutions of higher education and research and academic institutions in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Germany, Canada, Russia, Mongolia and other countries for the cooperation of student study abroad and exchange students.
As a department specializing in the management of international students' education, the College of International Exchange is mainly responsible for recruiting all kinds of government scholarship students and self-financed students from overseas. The College integrates the education of international students into the whole process of talent cultivation, scientific research and international exchange and cooperation. The international students involved in the college cover all levels, including doctoral students, master students, undergraduates, advanced students and language students. The student source countries are mainly Mongolia and Russia at the beginning, and gradually expanded to more than 10 countries along the "Belt and Road", and the student source structure and level are constantly optimized. The cultivation of international students involves more than 10 undergraduate majors and 20 graduate majors, and the research directions cover various disciplines such as literature, science, engineering, economics and management. The education work of international students has become a new growth point of international exchange and cooperation of the university and played an active role in creating an international atmosphere of the university.
The college accepts Chinese government scholarship, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region government scholarship and Confucius Institute scholarship for foreign students coming to China, and is the base for training Mongolian foreign students in Chinese language preparatory courses in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the test center of the new Chinese language proficiency online examination for foreign students coming to China by the State Hanban. In order to encourage outstanding foreign students to study in our university, the College of International Exchange has also established various awards for foreign students, such as the HSK Winner Award, the Outstanding Chinese Language Advanced Student Award, the Outstanding Foreign Student Graduate Award and the Outstanding Foreign Student Culture and Sports Award.
The college attaches great importance to the selection of teachers for international students' education, and strictly examines the teaching qualifications of teachers, who must have corresponding professional education experience and international background to ensure that teachers with high titles, high education and rich teaching experience are engaged in teaching and cultivation of international students. The academic structure, title structure, degree structure, teaching experience and experience of the faculty have laid a solid foundation for the education of international students. The College has established a number of cultural experience teaching bases for international students on and off campus, which realize zero distance contact between international students and Chinese culture, build a language practice platform for international students, carry out rich and diversified cultural experience activities, cultivate international students' interest in learning Chinese, promote their practical application of Chinese and improve their intercultural communication ability in various aspects.
The college provides strong hardware conditions for international students, and various facilities are fully equipped, and the stadium, library and student activity center are equally open to international students. Chinese and foreign students can exercise together, learn from each other and improve together. Considering the different dietary habits of international students, not only are all Chinese canteens open to international students equally, but also a Halal restaurant has been opened. The college has a separate apartment building for international students, which is well-equipped and convenient to use.
In addition to the education for international students, the School of International Exchange has also established the ISEC Tourism Management Program based on the good foundation of international exchange cooperation and excellent bilingual teaching faculty of tourism management, and the enrollment is for domestic fresh high school graduates. The ISEC program has a mutual recognition system for undergraduate studies, and students can apply for further study in foreign institutions to obtain master's or doctoral degrees.
In addition, the School of International Exchange has opened the first Korean language undergraduate program in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, which is open to domestic fresh high school graduates. This program is the predecessor of the Applied Korean Language Program established by the College from 2011 to 2021. Based in Inner Mongolia and facing the whole country, the major of Korean language cultivates talents with "Korean language + major" needed for economic globalization, economic transformation and upgrading, economic and social development and "One Belt, One Road" initiative. The program has a distinctive international character, and has signed joint education and student exchange agreements with universities such as Dankook University and Cheongun University in Korea. Students can study in Korean universities as inter-university exchange students with mutual recognition of credits; they can also participate in the 2+2 program and obtain academic degrees from our university and Korean partner universities after graduation.
There are more than ten multimedia classrooms and smart classrooms, and one Chinese culture experience room and one Korean culture experience room. The college library subscribes to more than 100 kinds of Chinese and foreign language books and periodicals, and more than 3,000 foreign language books.
