Inner Mongolia Medical University (IMU), located in Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is a multi-disciplinary higher medical college with its focus on medicine, integrating science, management, engineering, literature and law. At that time, it was subordinate to the Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China. In 1958, it was put under the administration of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Formerly known as Inner Mongolia Medical College, it has been renamed Inner Mongolia Medical University successively, and has become a university co-built by the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, The National Health and Family Planning Commission and the Ministry of Education.
