Hunan University of Humanities, Science and Technology
Established in 1978, Hunan University of Humanities, Science and Technology (HUHST) is approved by the Ministry of Education of P. R. China as a comprehensive public university. In 2018, it was granted “Double First-Class” high level application-oriented university of Hunan Province.
The university consists of 14 schools, offering programs both on bachelor degree and master degree. There are 55 undergraduate programs, ranging from Arts, Humanities to Science, Engineering, Education, Economics, Management and Agriculture. Currently 19,000 full-time students study on campus, with 1366 faculty and staff members.
Five disciplines are selected as provincial “Double First-Class” applicated-orineted disciplines: Applied Economics, Maxims, Plant Protection, Computer Science and Technology, and Material Science and Engineering. There are 31 national-level and provincial-level practice platforms, such as college students’ dragon and lion dancing training base, provincial demonstration laboratory, demonstration center of teaching practice, college students’ innovation center, school-enterprise cooperation talent cultivating demonstration base, innovation and entrepreneurship education base, incubation demonstration base and crowd innovation space. Two high-level sports teams, football and orienteering team, are granted by the Ministry of Education of the P. R. China.
Cooperative relationship has been established with around 50 universities from the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom,Thailand and other countries and regions.We made a plenty of achievement in-collaborative programs with our partner universities. For instance, we have a “3+1”cooperative-education program with Bath Spa University, the U.K. in Preschool Education, which is accredited by Ministry of Education, P. R. China. Students enrolled in this program will have their fourth-year study in the U.K. and get their bachelor degrees of both universities. With the achievements attained thus far, we believe the collaboration between HUHST and its partner institutions can be further extended and deepened.
Since 2016, students of HUHST have won 943 prizes at or above the provincial level in various innovation and entrepreneurship competitions such as the “Internet Plus”, Challenge Cup, Innovation Youth,national electronic design contest for college students, mathematical modeling match, etc. HUHST has the first college entrepreneurship foundation in the Province——Hunan Zhengyang College Students Entrepreneurship Foundation, College student entrepreneurship incubator base has been established. HUHST was honored Hunan demonstration university for students’ employment and entrepreneurship in 2013. The self-employment rate of 2014 graduates ranks No.1 in Hunan province.It is one of the first colleges in Hunan province identified as innovative entrepreneurship incubation demonstration base and has become a council member of China University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Alliance in 2017. Employment rate of graduates has been kept above 90% in recent years.
HUHST has been successively conferred the honors of model institution of Hunan Province,excellent institution for graduate employment,national advanced institution of social practice for college students, advanced institution of ideological and political education research, national advanced institution for model campus construction, advanced institution of comprehensive management in Hunan province, Safe Institution of Hunan Province and Top Ten Safe Colleges in Hunan Province. The achievement of constructing safe university won second prize of the Ministry of Education the P. R. China. It is also the model university of Hunan Province for managing the university by law,university students employment and entrepreneurship model in Hunan, council member of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Alliance of Chinese Universities. “HUHST is known as an undergraduate university which is vigorous, popular, ambitious, confident and full of love.” said by the assessment experts in 2012.

Hunan University of Humanities, Science and Technology (HUHST) is located in Loudi, acentral city in Hunan Province, China. With more than 40 years’ development, HUHST has become a comprehensive university with 50 undergraduate programs covering nine academic areas of social and natural sciences, including Art, Humanities, Science, Technology, Education, Economy, Management, Law and Agriculture, and has a good reputation in teaching andresearch, especially in plant protection, food science, computer, physical education, material chemistry, Chinese literature, social sports, ethnic political education, etc.

HUHST attaches great importance to international cooperation in the areas of teaching and research. It has had student exchange, joint research and a variety of cooperative programs with around 50 universities from various countries, such as the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia, India, Thailand, and Korea. Quite a few international students are studying Chinese Language, Chinese Culture, and other academic subjects on our campus.
