

The predecessor of Hunan Foreign Language Vocational College was Liuyang Foreign Language School, which was established in 1993. It was renamed Liuyang Foreign Language College in 1997. In 2006, the school was upgraded to a regular higher vocational school and renamed Hunan Foreign Languages Vocational College. The school has two campuses in Changsha and Liuyang, covering an area of over 1,000 mu. The main campus is located in Dingzi Town, Wangcheng District. It has 8 secondary colleges and currently has nearly 1,000 faculty and staff members and over 15,000 students. The teaching facilities are complete, making it a modern, intelligent and ecological campus.
The school is rich in teaching resources and has a strong teaching staff. At present, there is 1 provincial-level professional teaching team, 1 provincial-level first-class characteristic professional group of higher vocational education, 2 provincial-level excellent specialties, 13 provincial and municipal-level excellent courses, 1 provincial-level excellent vocational education textbook, 1 pilot project of modern apprenticeship system in Hunan Province, and 1 key vocational education project of Changsha City that is in line with local industries (application of minor languages) school-enterprise cooperation demonstration base. The school encourages teachers to carry out applied research and the transformation of achievements. In recent years, teachers have undertaken 130 research projects at the provincial level or above, published over 700 academic papers, authored more than 30 academic books (textbooks), obtained 30 patents, and won over 10 provincial teaching and research achievement awards as well as more than 150 awards for outstanding papers. Since 2024, students from our school have participated in various skills competitions at the national, provincial and municipal levels, and have won 92 awards in national competitions, including 2 special prizes, 8 first prizes, 25 second prizes and 57 third prizes. It won 141 provincial competitions, including 18 first prizes, 41 second prizes, 34 third prizes and 48 other awards. In recent years, in provincial spot checks, the pass rate of students' graduation projects has reached 100% on multiple occasions, the pass rate of professional skills has exceeded 95%, and the overall employment rate of students has been above 90%.
