Huanggang Normal University is located in The national livable city of Huanggang, Hubei Province, which is located in Chutou, Wuwei, Tongjiang, Dahai and the provincial capital Wuhan. Its predecessor was Huangzhou Prefecture Normal university, which was founded in 1905. It has gone through the changes of "Provincial Huanggang Rural Normal university", "Hubei Provincial Huanggang Normal university" and "Huanggang Teachers College". In March 1999, approved by the Ministry of Education, it was upgraded to the undergraduate level of huanggang Normal University.
