Henan Mechanical & Electrical Vocational College
Henan Mechanical & Electrical Vocational College is a public full-time higher vocational college sponsored by the People’s Government of Henan Province and directly under the Education Department of Henan Province. Founded in 1953, its main campus is located in South University Town of Zhengzhou. The college maintains close cooperation with 9 industrial parks and 130 enterprises inside and outside Henan Province, and jointly establishes 26 industrial colleges (Field Engineer Colleges). It offers 80 majors with more than 1,800 full-time and part-time teachers, among whom 429 are professors and associate professors. The college has over 30,000 full-time students.
Adhering to industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation, the college collaborates with well-known enterprises including BYD, Inspur, CR Micro, Yutong Bus and Huawei. It builds colleges inside industrial parks, sets majors along production chains and arranges classrooms right on production frontlines, empowering enterprises in depth and supporting the development of new quality productive forces. Up to now, eight major clusters have been constructed, covering modern manufacturing, new-generation information technology, modern services, emergency management, new energy vehicles, medical engineering, green energy and new materials, further consolidating joint driving forces for development.
The college keeps innovating its education model. Guided by the goal of building a distinctive high-level vocational and technical university, it has developed its unique "Project + Talent Dual Delivery" education model. Real engineering projects from enterprises are transformed into academic engineering programs, realizing the vision of "enrollment equals employment, learning equals on-the-job practice, and graduation equals access to employment and entrepreneurship".
Furthermore, the college runs 147 pilot programs under the 1+X Certificate System. It holds qualifications for vocational skill level recognition covering 12 categories, industry skill evaluation for 38 categories, and training access for more than 110 types of occupations. Students can complete multiple vocational skill training programs on campus to graduate with multiple certificates.
The college has built the On-site Education Platform, providing integrated services including intelligent job matching, course selection, learning, employment and entrepreneurship. The graduate employment rate remains steadily above 97%. Its practices have been recognized by the Ministry of Education and shared as a typical experience at the National Conference on University Graduate Employment.
The college continues to deepen the "Dual Introduction & Dual Cultivation" mechanism for scientific research and innovation, vigorously advance the integration of science and education, and pursue high-quality connotative development. It hosts 3 academician workstations, a postdoctoral research workstation and 2 national-level teaching innovation teams. The college runs the Key Laboratory for Integrated Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment of Superhard Materials in Henan Province, the only provincial key laboratory among higher vocational colleges in Henan.
Twenty-four provincial-level scientific research platforms including provincial engineering technology research centers and provincial engineering laboratories have been jointly built with enterprises. Research projects such as R&D and pilot production of 4N-grade low-temperature sinterable ceramic powder and the industrial application of superhard metal materials have been completed, tackling core industrial technological bottlenecks.

It has been honored as a National Advanced Unit in Vocational Education, a Backbone Vocational College of China’s Machinery Industry, an Advanced Collective of Henan Education System, and a Model Civilized Campus of Henan Province.
