Heilongjiang Vocational College of Tourism is approved by the provincial government and put on record by the Ministry of Education. It is the only public vocational college of trade and tourism in Heilongjiang Province. It is affiliated to the Department of Commerce of Heilongjiang Province. The college carries out higher vocational education, secondary vocational education and adult higher education, undertakes the examination of dispatched labor service personnel and related social services, the education and training of provincial trade and tourism industry employees, and the examination of provincial tourism vocational qualification and grade examination.

The college is a high-level higher vocational college in Heilongjiang Province, an excellent backbone higher vocational College in Heilongjiang Province, a demonstration base for college-enterprise cooperation in Tourism Vocational Education, a training base for highly skilled talents in Heilongjiang Province, a training base for Tour Guide and Examination in Heilongjiang Province, a training base for backbone teachers in secondary vocational education, a training base for foreign aid officials of the Ministry of Commerce, a base for the Middle and Higher Vocational Skills Competition in Heilongjiang Province, and a service of the Ministry of Commerce Outsourcing talent Training Base, Heilongjiang Secondary Vocational Matching and examination base, Heilongjiang Digital Business Talent Training Base, the first modern apprenticeship pilot unit in Heilongjiang Province and the national "double qualified" teacher ratio top 100 colleges, Heilongjiang Provincial civilized campus.

The college has 9 secondary colleges and departments, including the college of Tourism Industry Development (Sun Island Campus), the college of Hotel Management, the college of Catering Management, the college of Financial Management, the college of Health Industry, the college of Information Technology and Art Design, the college of Traffic Management, the college of International Business and the Department of Ideological and Political Education. Currently, 34 majors are enrolled, among which tourism management and digital business are provincial high-level majors, and tourism management and hotel management are provincial high-level majors supported by central financial support for higher vocational college construction. Chinese and Western pastry technology, food nutrition and testing are provincial pilot programs of modern apprenticeship.

Adhering to the application-oriented, special and open mode of running a college, facing the frontier of domestic and international education and the major strategic needs of the country, the college focuses on strengthening the construction of specialties, expanding exchanges between China and foreign countries, and realizing the interaction between the university and enterprises. The college has formed the overall layout of specialties with the dual development of "tourism" and "economy and trade", and has stepped out of the road of running a college with characteristics of "dual track" of vocational education and social training.

The college led the establishment of the "Longyue Vocational Education Collaborative Development Alliance", and jointly established the "Longyue Vocational Education Experimental Class" with Guangdong Vocational College of Science and Technology, realizing the successful exploration of cooperation modes in the field of Longyue Cooperative education. Students from the two universities traveled from south to north to experience the fruitful cooperation and exchanges together.

Based on the overall situation of the development of the tourism industry, the college continues to promote the upgrading of the construction of "Strong tourism Province" with public cultural services. We have undertaken various training programs to improve teachers' ability and professional skills in the province, and the total number of participants has exceeded 20,000, which has made positive contributions to serving the local economic and social development of our province.

The college actively promotes the cooperation and exchange of "One Belt and One Road", and has established cultural exchanges and training cooperation with teachers and students in many countries and regions such as South Korea, Japan, Russia, the United States, Finland and Australia. It hosted 17 training and research sessions for foreign aid officials of the Ministry of Commerce. More than 500 government officials and university teachers from more than 60 countries came to China to learn about the Chinese civilization.

The college actively explores a new model of integration of industry and education with the coordinated development of the government, the park, the industry and enterprises, and the colleges and universities, and leads the establishment of Heilongjiang Province Home Economics and Old-age Care Vocational Education Group and Heilongjiang Province Business and Tourism Vocational Education Group. It has carried out hospital and county cooperation with the Greater Hinggan Mountains Regional Administration, Wangkui County, Boli County, Huachuan County, Shangzhi City, Wudalianchi City and some other places and cities (counties). We have undertaken many promotion conferences of Heilongjiang Province Macao Labor Service cooperation, and more than 100 students have gone to Macao to achieve high salary and high-end employment in higher vocational colleges.

The College has built an open, industry-education integrated education pattern in multiple fields and angles, which is managed by the government as a whole, actively organized by industrial enterprises and deeply involved by social forces. It carries out modern apprenticeship and ordnance training with more than 120 outstanding enterprises in China, and is awarded the "High-quality Student Source Security Base" by Heilongjiang Provincial Party Committee General Office. The employment rate has remained above 80 percent for many years.
