Hanzhong Vocational and Technical College | Chinese Universities

Hanzhong Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time ordinary higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Shaanxi Province in September 2004 and registered with the Ministry of Education, sponsored by the Hanzhong Municipal People's Government. It is located in Zongying Town, Hantai District, Hanzhong City. The college has a history of more than 110 years, inheriting the fine school-running traditions and profound cultural heritage of five institutions: Hanzhong Agricultural School (founded in 1911), Hanzhong Normal School (founded in 1927), Hanzhong Municipal Health School (founded in 1958), Hanzhong College of Education (founded in 1981), and Hanzhong Finance and Economics School (founded in 1988).

The college has successively been awarded honorary titles such as one of the first pilot units for informatization construction by the Ministry of Education, a national defense education characteristic school, a national university A-level "one-stop" student community, a demonstration school for standardization of language and characters in Shaanxi Province, a safe campus in Shaanxi Province, a demonstration higher vocational school in Shaanxi Province, a green school in Shaanxi Province, a water-saving campus in Shaanxi Province, a civilized campus in the education system of Shaanxi Province, an advanced collective for teacher ethics education in Shaanxi Province, a Class A standardized center for mental health education and counseling in ordinary colleges and universities in Shaanxi Province, and a pilot university for comprehensive reform of counselor teams in colleges and universities in Shaanxi Province. It is one of the first labor education practice bases for primary and secondary schools and universities in Shaanxi Province and a provincial pilot unit for school first-aid education.

In 2022, the college was selected as a construction unit for high-level professional groups in the provincial "Double High Plan" of Shaanxi Province. The Hanzhong Vocational Education Group led by the college was selected as a cultivation unit of the second batch of national demonstration vocational education groups (alliances), and the Southern Shaanxi Ecological Health Care Industry Industry-Education Integration Community is a key cultivation community under provincial layout.

The college covers an area of more than 730 mu, with a total fixed asset value of 1.2 billion yuan, teaching equipment worth 160 million yuan, and a collection of 1.65 million books of various types. It enrolls students from 18 provinces across the country, with 16,000 full-time students.

The college has 12 party and government management departments, 5 directly affiliated institutions, 13 teaching units, 2 teaching auxiliary units, 1 directly affiliated second-class A hospital, and 1 non-directly affiliated third-class general hospital. It offers 39 higher vocational majors in 12 professional categories. It has built 1 professional construction project supported by the central finance, 3 provincial-level comprehensive professional reform projects, 3 provincial-level first-class majors, and 6 provincial-level key majors. Currently, there are 19 pilot projects of the Ministry of Education's "1+X" certificate system, 3 provincial-level professional teaching resource databases, and 2 provincial-level "Double High Plan" high-level professional groups (including 9 majors such as Stomatology and Preschool Education).

In recent years, it has undertaken 22 provincial-level teaching reform research projects and won 5 provincial-level teaching achievement awards (1 first prize and 4 second prizes). It has built 36 various provincial-level courses, including 3 provincial-level first-class core courses (offline) cultivation courses, 1 provincial-level excellent course, 20 provincial-level online excellent open courses, 4 provincial-level innovation and entrepreneurship education courses, and 8 provincial-level ideological and political demonstration courses. Two teachers won the first and second prizes respectively in the 3rd National College Ideological and Political Theory Teaching Exhibition and the Moral Education and Ideological and Political Education Competition of the National Vocational College Skills Competition. Teachers have compiled and published 202 teaching materials, among which 6 won the second prize of provincial excellent teaching materials, 4 were selected into the first batch of "14th Five-Year Plan" national planning textbooks for vocational education (2 as chief editors and 1 as associate editor), and 5 were selected into the "14th Five-Year Plan" vocational education planning textbooks of Shaanxi Province. Students have won 13 national awards and 270 provincial awards in various vocational skills competitions. The acquisition rate of students' "double certificates" has reached more than 85%, and the employment rate of fresh graduates has remained above 94%.
