Guilin University of Technology (GUT), is a state owned university founded in 1956, situated in the world-famous scenic city of Guilin in Guangxi Province.

Covering more than 220 hectares, GUT has four campus, and 19 colleges with 75 undergraduate programs, 21 Master authorizations in the first-level discipline, 3 Post-doctoralcenters, as well as 3 Ph.D. authorizations in the first-level discipline. Currently there are more than 40,000 full-time students in GUT. GUT has developed into a university of multiple disciplines. With Engineering taking the lead there are a total of 8 primary disciplines in development, including science, management, liberal, economics, law, arts and agriculture. The education of postgraduate, undergraduate, higher vocation and adult continuing education have been developing harmoniously.

GUT aims to cultivate the practice-oriented advanced professional talents, holding the key majors with distinctive features, such as Geology, Environment, Material, Civil Engineering, Surveying and Mapping, Tourism and Management.Some majors have obtained the top list in the national ranking, which are Surveying and Mapping Engineering, Tourism Management，as well as Business Administration.

Focusing on quality-oriented education, GUT also has paid attention to expand the scale of education and develop research programmes. The university has won the highest award of Guangxi scientific research achievement of higher education- the National Scientific Progress Prize. For more than half a century, the university has brought up nearly 100,000 professional and technicaltalents. The rate of graduates employment has reached to 90% every year. Our graduates are welcomed by enterprises and institutions due to their solid professional basic knowledge and hands-on abilities.

For the purposes of promoting the international exchanges and cooperation, GUT has insisted on an opening-uppolicy, actively built an international cooperation system which is all-round, multi-level and in various forms. So far the university has established cooperative relationswith over 100 colleges from 30 countries, including the United States, UK, Australia, Japan, Russia, Malaysia and so on. It also signed academic exchanges, personnel training and scientific research cooperation agreements with 50 famous universities. The international education has developed steadily- so far there are over 6600 students have had courses at GUT from more than 60 countries.

Guilin University of Technology has established friendly cooperative relations with more than 100 universities in more than 30 countries and regions. Among them, more than 50 universities have signed international student exchange, academic exchanges and scientific research cooperation agreements, and a total of more than 2,000 students have been sent to study abroad and study abroad. The FGA test center set up by the Royal Gemological Society of England in the school has ranked first in the world for many years in a row, and it has been a good story in the international jewelry industry. A total of more than 6,600 foreign students of various types have been accepted. The average pass rate of international students in the Chinese Proficiency Test (New HSK) is over 95%. The Kyrgyz International Students Cultural Festival in China and the “Belt and Road” International Education Development Principal Forum have been successfully held.
