Guilin University Of Electronic Technology

Guilin University Of Electronic Technology (GUET) is cataloged a key public university of Guangxi which is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in China. Founded in 1960, with sustainable development, GUET has shaped a multidisciplinary university focusing in engineering-based teaching and featuring electronic information and technology.

Located in the world-famous city of Guilin and city of Beihai, GUET owns three campuses; Huajiang Campus, Jinjiling Campus and Beihai Campus, covering an area of 1000 acres. The university now has 22 colleges, covering 7 disciplines in engineering, science, management, economics, liberal arts, law and art. It offers 70 undergraduate programs, 30 postgraduate programs including 139 research directions, and 4 doctorate programs.

GUET possesses over 2,900 faculties and staff. Students from different campuses amount to 29,000, maintaining an annual employment rate of 93%. Additionally, GUET has built one of the largest libraries in China with 42,000 square meters, 2 million books, 19,000 kinds of Chinese and foreign journals and 90 databases. It designs advanced internet information platforms and excellent environment for learning.

Recently GUET has established good cooperative relationships with more than 160 universities and academic institutions in Asia, Europe, the Americas, Oceania and Africa, building strategic partnerships with 80 universities. In the past 10 years, more than 1,200 GUET students have been studying abroad and around 3,000 international students had pursued their studies in GUET. Presently the university has 700 international students from over 34 countries and regions. Apart from cooperation with university from France, Ireland, England and what have you, GUET and UCC (University College Cork) have joined hands to cultivate undergraduates based on Internet Engineering Program.

Located in the world-famous scenic tourist resort and historic city of Guilin, jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, State Administration of Science Technology and Industry for National Defense and the government of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, GuiLin University of Electronic technology (GUET) is one of the chosen universities of National Basic Ability Construction Project of Western and Central China, and the key public university of Guangxi featuring electronic information technology and innovation and entrepreneurship education. GUET owns four campuses: Jinjiling Campus, Liuhelu Campus, Huajiang Campus, and Beihai Campus. Huajiang campus, as the main one, has a beautiful picturesque landscape with a total planned construction area of 4,000,200 square meters, among which 2,800,000 square meters has been constructed. As a result, Huajiang Campus gets the honour of the first National Civilized Campus.

There are 76 undergraduate majors, including 1 national comprehensive reform pilot major, 5 national characteristic major, 6 engineering education certification majors, and the disciplines of "Engineering" and "materials science" have entered the top 1% of ESI in the word.

There are four compus of GUET, they are Jinjiling campus, Liuhe Road Campus, Huajiang campus and Beihai campus, which are respectively located in Guilin National High Tech Development Zone, Yaoshan scenic area of Guilin city and Yinhai District of Beihai city. The total campus area four 2,800,800 square meters. The campus is with beautiful environment and picturesque scenery, which contain a commercial street.

There are more than 3100 staffs in GUET. They are consist of , one "Yangtze scholars" special professors in the teaching staff, two Professors of "Yangtze Scholars" , six national fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Four national talents project candidates, One Youth program of "Yangtze River scholars" , One National Excellent Youth Fund, One national outstanding professional and technical talents, Four candidates for the "hundred talents plan" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 7 candidates "New century" of the Ministry of human resources and education Talent support program ", Two national excellent scientific and technological lecturers, Thirty-three government special allowance expert of the National Council , 10 Guangxi "Bagui scholar" ,Eleven Guangxi excellent experts , Eight Guangxi special expert, Eleven famous teachers in Guangxi, etc. One "National University Huang Danian style teacher team" of the Ministry of Education, Three Small highland of Guangxi talents, Six Guangxi University Innovation Team.

GUET has established an international student association to fully protect the rights and interests of international students in school. There are 8 international student associations with distinct characteristics, which provide strong guarantee for students' after­school life. The dragon and lion dance team of International Students won the third place in the 11th National College Students' dragon and Lion Dance Championship in 2018, the second place in the 2019 Chinese traditional sports international championship, and participated in the ending welcoming activity and beginning cheering activity of the 2019 Geli road cycling world tour performance in Guilin. Cheerleaders, poetry reciters, and volunteer service teams have participated in various activities for many times.
