Guangzhou College of Technology and Business is a non-profit, private full-time undergraduate college, founded in 1995, established in 2004 as Guangzhou Business Vocational College, in 2014 with the approval of the Ministry of Education, upgraded to undergraduate, renamed Guangzhou College of Technology and Business. In 2018, it was approved as a bachelor's degree granting unit, and in 2021, it was approved as a master's degree granting project construction unit in Guangdong Province and a new doctoral workstation station unit in Guangdong Province.

The college has 14 teaching units and 33 undergraduate programs, including 3 Chinese-foreign cooperative programs, which realize the coordinated development of economics, management, engineering, literature, art and education. Actively promote the construction of application-oriented undergraduate universities, deepen the integration of production and education, and carry out joint training between colleges and enterprises, and have set up eight industrial colleges in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Smart Cold Chain, cross-border e-commerce, big data and artificial intelligence, among which the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Smart Cold Chain Industry College has been approved as a demonstration industrial college in Guangdong Province. Give full play to the professional advantages of the discipline, take the initiative to serve regional economic and social development, and issue the "Construction Norms for the integration of production and education in cross-border E-commerce" at the 2022 World Cross-border E-commerce Conference, providing the "Guangzhou Standard" and "Guangzhou Wisdom" that can be copied and promoted. We will expand avenues for cooperation with foreign countries and improve the level of opening up to the outside world. It has actively leveraged its geographical advantages adjacent to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, actively explored the cultivation of applied talents with an international perspective, actively carried out international exchanges and cooperation in higher education, and established in-depth cooperative relations with 30 world-renowned institutions such as the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States and Italy. The college of International Education has been established to jointly implement the talent training model with seven professional colleges, including the college of Engineering, and currently has 2,907 students. In the past three years, 247 graduates have studied abroad, and 344 teachers and students have been sent overseas for exchange, internship, study and further study. Approved by the Ministry of Education in April 2022, the college and Northeastern State college of the United States jointly organized the Sino-foreign cooperative educational institution, which is the only Chinese-foreign cooperative educational institution in Guangdong Province. At present, it offers three majors: Communication engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science and Big Data technology, and has more than 300 students.
