Guangxi Vocational & Technical College of Manufacturing and Engineering
Guangxi Vocational College of Manufacturing Engineering was established in April 2020 with the approval of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is a public full-time higher vocational college sponsored by the regional government, built and managed by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Guangxi, and guided by the Department of Education of Guangxi. It is the first higher vocational college specializing in manufacturing in the region. The college has been recognized as a "Water-Saving University" in Guangxi, a base for cultivating high-quality farmers in Guangxi (comprehensive base), and an outstanding unit in employment and entrepreneurship work among ordinary colleges and universities in the region.
The college is located in the National-level Guangxi-ASEAN Economic and Technological Development Zone (West District of Nanning Education Park), with convenient transportation. The Guiyang-Nanning high-speed railway passes through it, and a dedicated bus line reaches the school gate. The extension line of Nanning Metro Line 2 and Nanning North Railway Station are nearby. The college has a planned area of over 1,100 mu, with a total planned construction area of 500,000 square meters and a planned total investment of 2.3 billion yuan. Currently, 40 single buildings including teaching buildings, training rooms, student dormitories, canteens, libraries, auditoriums, and sports venues have been completed, covering an area of nearly 300,000 square meters. The campus is fully functional, with novel architectural appearances, reasonable and standardized layouts, and complete facilities and equipment. The campus is clean, tidy, and orderly.
The college is committed to cultivating high-quality skilled talents in the fields of smart agriculture and agricultural machinery (manufacturing). It has 10 secondary colleges, namely the College of Agricultural Engineering, the College of Food Engineering, the College of Intelligent Manufacturing, the College of Artificial Intelligence (College of Smart Agriculture), the College of Automotive Engineering, the College of Digital Economy and Management, the College of Electronic Engineering, the College of Marxism, the College of General Education (College of Humanities Education), and the College of Continuing Education (International Exchange Center). The college actively builds competitive characteristic and advantageous specialties. Currently, it offers 31 majors (including directions) such as Modern Agricultural Equipment Application Technology, Industrial Robot Technology, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Application Technology, Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation, Artificial Intelligence Technology Application, and Automotive Inspection and Maintenance Technology. There are currently 12,250 full-time vocational college students.
The college has over 500 staff members and has hired nearly 100 professors, experts, and high-end talents from enterprises both within and outside the region as visiting professors and industry mentors, providing strong support for the college's development. The college takes vocational skills competitions as a handle to deepen educational and teaching reforms, comprehensively promote professional construction, and improve students' professional qualities and abilities. Since 2022, it has organized students to participate in various levels of skills competitions and won a total of 381 awards, including 116 awards in provincial and above vocational college skills competitions and 265 awards in industry competitions. In the 2023 BRICS Skills Competition Future Skills Challenge "Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Operation" international finals in South Africa, it won a silver award. In the 2024 World Vocational College Skills Competition finals competition in the Equipment Manufacturing Track II (Intelligent Flight Vehicle Application Technology Group), it also won a silver award.
