

Guangxi Sports College is located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi. It is a full-time higher vocational college sponsored by the People's Government of the Autonomous Region and in charge of the Sports Bureau of the Autonomous Region.
The predecessor of the college was the Guangxi Sports Cadre School established in 1956. In 1958, it was renamed Guangxi Sports School. In 1960, it was upgraded to Guangxi Institute of Physical Education. Closed in 1962. Guangxi Sports School was restored in 1972, Guangxi Sports College was restored in 1984, and it was renamed Guangxi Sports College in 1994.
The college has five teaching units, namely the School of Physical Education and Education, the School of Sports Science and Health, the School of Sports Economics and Management, the School of Marxism, and the School of Sports and Health Industry, and one affiliated secondary vocational school. There are 28 majors, forming three major groups of sports and education, sports and health, and sports industry and economics, and a distinctive talent training model has been established. At present, there are more than 10,000 full-time students of various types.
The college has more than 397 full-time and part-time teachers, 56 of them have senior professional titles, 10 part-time teachers have senior professional titles, 15 international and national referees, and 30 national social sports instructors.
The college has 3 national-level backbone majors, and has obtained 8 autonomous region-level demonstration majors, 5 autonomous region-level demonstration training bases, and 1 autonomous region-level vocational education professional development research base. It is a free teacher training unit for weak subjects in Guangxi's rural areas, the presiding unit of the autonomous region's vocational education professional teaching resource bank, the "1+X" certificate system pilot institution and the modern apprenticeship pilot unit. In recent years, 52 educational reform projects in the autonomous region have been approved, 23 scientific research projects in Guangxi, 14 research projects on the theory and practice of ideological and political education for college students in Guangxi, 41 projects to improve the basic ability of young and middle-aged teachers in the autonomous region, and supporting funds for teaching and scientific research on campus each year (Including rewards) More than 1 million yuan, with a total funding of about 6 million yuan. Won 1 second prize and 1 third prize of the Autonomous Region Vocational Education Teaching Achievement Award.
The school women’s pearl team represented Guangxi in the 11th National Minority Traditional Sports Games and won the first prize. Student Chen Zhao represented Guangxi in the 10th National Paralympic Games and won 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze. During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, he won 7 first prizes in the National Higher Sports Vocational College Student Skills Competition and 3 first prizes in the Autonomous Region Teaching Skills Competition. School teachers participated in the National Vocational College Information Teaching Competition and Guangxi Vocational College Information Teaching Competition and won multiple awards. Many of them have been awarded as Excellent Teachers of the Autonomous Region and Excellent Educators of the Autonomous Region. In addition, the school has been awarded "Advanced Unit for Conscription Work" for many consecutive years. In recent years, the employment rate of graduates of our school has reached or exceeded the average employment rate of colleges and universities in the region, and the employment work has been awarded the title of "Outstanding Unit for Employment and Entrepreneurship of General College Graduates in the District" for many consecutive times.
13 national and provincial education and training research bases including the National Training Base for Key Teachers and Management Cadres of Special School Football Schools, National Training Base for Retired Athletes, National Sports General Administration Human Resources Development Center Athlete Vocational Training Base, Guangxi National Fitness Monitoring Center, etc. are settled in the school .

As the "cradle of Bagui sports talents", Olympic and world champions such as Li Ning, Wu Shude, and Nong Qunhua were born here. The employment rate of college graduates has remained above 90% for many years.
