

Guangxi Medical College, located in Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is a state-run full-time general higher medical college at the junior college level, and is a medical and health higher vocational college that mainly trains nursing, pharmacy and related medical talents. It is the first batch of pilot colleges of the Ministry of Education to implement the 1X certificate system and the construction unit of the autonomous region-level high-skilled talent training base. It is a training base for health cadres in six central and southern provinces (regions) designated by the former Ministry of Health, a training base for talents in short supply in the national nursing profession, a demonstration site for the construction of health services in China's higher vocational colleges, and a Guangxi General Medicine Education and Teaching Guidance Center.
The school, formerly known as the Nanning Health Provincial Hospital Nurse and Midwifery School of Guangxi Nanning Health Provincial Hospital, was founded in 1941 and later changed to Guangxi Health Management Cadre College, and in 1953, the First Health School of Guangxi Province merged with a number of schools to form Guangxi Nanning Health School. In 1958, it was renamed Guangxi Health College. In 1986, it was renamed Guangxi Health Management Cadre College, with four departments of medicine, health management, laboratory and pharmacy, mainly adult junior college classes and general junior college classes. In March 2010, Guangxi Health Management Cadre College, Guangxi Maternal and Child Health Hospital Affiliated Health School, and Guangxi Pharmaceutical School merged to form Guangxi Health Vocational and Technical College. On October 18, 2011, Guangxi Health Vocational and Technical College held its inaugural meeting.
As of January 2025, the school has three campuses: Kunlun Campus, Taoyuan Campus, and Wuming Campus, with 20,397 full-time students and 670 faculty members. The library has 788,600 paper books and more than 1.48 million electronic books. There are 9 faculties and 35 majors, with a total land area of 1093.04 acres, including Kunlun Campus covers an area of 316 acres, Taoyuan Campus covers an area of 29.02 acres, Wuming Campus covers an area of 748.02 acres, and the school has 9 national platforms, 12 provincial platforms and 2 national and 6 autonomous region-level demonstration specialties and training bases.
