Guangxi College of Preschool Education (referred to as "Guangxi Preschool Education College") is a public junior college of normal education that was independently upgraded from Guangxi Preschool Education School with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2009. It is hosted by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and directly led by the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is a "Double High Plan" construction institution of the autonomous region, featuring the cultivation of service-oriented skilled talents in the fields of education, culture, art, etc. In 2000, it was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in National School Art Education Work" by the Ministry of Education. In 2012, the school was selected as one of the first batch of pilot units for educational informatization by the Ministry of Education. In 2016, the preschool Education major successfully passed the Ministry of Education's teacher education program accreditation. In 2020, the school was selected as a construction unit for high-level professional clusters in Guangxi. In 2023, the school was selected as one of the new round of "Double High" construction units in Guangxi.

The school has a long history of running schools and distinct educational characteristics. The predecessor of the school was the Guangxi Preschool Normal School of Guilin Branch of Beiping Xiangshan Orphanage founded by the renowned Chinese preschool educator Zhang Xuemen in 1938, which pioneered full-time preschool normal education in Guangxi. Since then, the school has moved several times and changed its name several times. Since its reconstruction in 1974, the school's scale of operation has been continuously expanding. Currently, it has three campuses: Dongmeng Campus, Qingxiu Campus and Pingguo Campus, covering a total area of nearly 1,800 mu, with over 17,000 full-time students on campus. For over eighty years, the school has been deeply engaged in preschool education and has cultivated nearly 150,000 early childhood education talents for the country, especially for Guangxi. It has been praised by the renowned Chinese educator Mr. Gu Mingyuan as "the leader in training intelligent preschool teachers in ethnic minority areas". Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the school has adhered to its "teacher" nature and "preschool" characteristics, and has formed a characteristic professional structure layout with preschool education as the leading major, teacher education as the focus, and non-teacher education as the expansion, focusing on the fields of "one primary school, one elderly, and one special education".

The school adheres to the principle of fostering virtue and nurturing talent, and has achieved remarkable results in educating students. The school adheres to the talent cultivation concept of "trinity" of value shaping, ability training and knowledge imparted, actively promotes the reform of talent cultivation for Zhihui preschool teachers in the preschool education major, builds the core qualities of "three powers, three hearts and three abilities" for Zhihui preschool teachers, makes full use of the environmental resources of "school within kindergarten" and "kindergarten within school", and constructs a "school-kindergarten" community where "you are in me and I am in you". Based on the resource library of "information technology + professional teaching" and the practical field of kindergartens, modern educational technology is utilized to form a learning community between teachers and students, cultivating students' ability to think and learn actively. A teaching model integrating learning and application has been formed, which is all-weather, both in-class and out-of-class, online and offline, with the generative nature of "practice - reflection - practice" and the immersion of the environment and activities. The quality of talent cultivation has been continuously improving. Since 2009, students have won 689 national-level awards of third prize or above and 1,529 autonomous regional-level awards of third prize or above (including 413 first prizes) in skills competitions. One project won the 18th "Star Award" and the Gold Award of the National Art Education Exhibition of Vocational Colleges in Ethnic Minority Areas. Two singing and dancing programs were broadcast in the No. 1 studio of CCTV. In 2023, the school's "GUI You Shan Yu, Hou Gu Wu You" team won the Special Prize in the 18th "Challenge Cup" National College Students' Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition. In 2024, two projects won the silver award in the main track of the 14th "Challenge Cup" Qinchuangyuan China College Students' Business Plan Competition. One project won the silver award in the 2024 World Vocational College Skills Competition.

The school adheres to the principle of internal cultivation and external recruitment, and the quality of its teaching staff is excellent. The school currently has 1,101 full-time and part-time staff members, among whom 183 hold senior professional titles and over 400 are visiting professors and part-time teachers. One team was selected as a national vocational education teacher teaching innovation team, one team was selected as a high-level innovation team of Guangxi Higher Education institutions, and one person was selected as an outstanding scholar of Guangxi Higher Education institutions. It was awarded the title of Advanced Collective in the National Education System once, one person was honored with the title of National Outstanding Teacher, and one person was awarded the title of National Outstanding Educator. Two people were awarded the title of Teaching Master of Guangxi, and one was awarded the title of Distinguished Teacher of Guangxi. Teachers have achieved remarkable results in teaching and research. Since 2009, they have obtained 542 teaching and research projects at or above the municipal and departmental level (including 70 at or above the provincial and ministerial level). There were 39 provincial and ministerial-level teaching and research achievement awards. It has won three second prizes of the National Teaching Achievement Award, one second prize of the National Textbook Construction Award, and a number of national-level landmark achievements such as the National Online Excellent Course for Vocational Education.

The school has accelerated the transformation of achievements and significantly enhanced its capacity to serve the society. Actively serve the national strategic deployments such as "ensuring that children are well cared for, the elderly are well supported, and the weak are well assisted", build a four-level demonstration training system, and rely on the advantages of 9 provincial and ministerial-level vocational training bases to host "national training", "regional training", etc., expanding its influence to 30 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) across the country. The training achievements have won 3 excellent cases from the Ministry of Education and 7 excellent national training cases from the autonomous region. The training assessment has been rated as excellent year after year. We have been deeply implementing the "Preschool Education Assistance Project", helping 54 poverty-stricken counties achieve the goal of "each county having a model", and focusing on assisting in the construction of "Wenxiu Kindergarten" in Baini Village, fully serving rural revitalization. Play a professional leading role in preschool education, special education and other fields, provide decision-making consultation reports for the "14th Five-Year Plan" action plan for the development and improvement of preschool education in the autonomous region, and host a number of major industry events such as the Guangxi Kindergarten Teachers' Skills Competition, the Autonomous Region Kindergarten Curriculum Base Construction Project, and the Employment and Entrepreneurship Competition for Disabled Teenagers. The Preschool Education Development and Service Center has 9 cooperative kindergartens, 8 of which have been opened. On average, it provides about 2,380 high-quality preschool education places to the society each year.

The school's international exchanges and cooperation have flourished, and its international reputation has steadily improved. Eleven preschool education curriculum standards have been adopted by schools (institutions) in ASEAN countries. Continue to promote the research and development of occupational standards for Chad and Southeast Asia. Develop 10 professional standards for Chad and Vietnam, including those for art design and preschool teachers. The successful hosting of the China-Asean Special Education Summit Forum and the consecutive holding of the China-Asean Infant and Toddler Care Service Skills Competition for three years have gained wide influence. Domestic and foreign media such as Guangming Daily, Sin Chew Daily of Malaysia, and China Education News Network have conducted special reports on the experiences and practices of our school in implementing the "Early childhood Education going global" strategy.
