Gandong University, established with the approval of the Ministry of Education, is a full-time public undergraduate university under the supervision of the Education Department of Jiangxi Province and organized by the Fuzhou Municipal People's Government. The university is located in Fuzhou, Jiangxi Province, which is known as "the hometown of talents and the state of culture". Formerly known as Changjiang College of East China University of Technology, which was founded in 2002, its comprehensive strength ranks among the top 100 independent colleges in China. On January 25, 2021, Gandong College was re-established with a tentative scale of 10,000 students.
The university has two campuses in Yangcheng Road and Donglin New District, with beautiful campus environment and sound supporting facilities. Yangcheng Campus covers a total land area of 64580 square meters, with a total construction area of 46,800 square meters. The new campus covers an area of 1028 mu. The total investment of the project is about 1.5 billion yuan, and the construction area is 330,000 square meters. At present, the university has more than 100 sets of teaching and research equipment such as hydraulic transmission practical training equipment, numerical control experimental teaching system, PLC experimental equipment, tensile testing machine, optical cutting microscope and so on, with a value of 58.59 million yuan. The library has 603,200 copies of paper books and 1.085,000 copies of electronic books.
At present, the university has a total of 5 secondary universitys, 32 undergraduate majors, covering engineering, science, management, economics, liberal arts, law, education, art eight disciplines, enrolling 5,700 full-time undergraduates, existing staff of 364 people, staff of 280 secondary university teachers. Teachers with high or intermediate professional titles account for 40%, and doctoral or master's degrees account for more than 95%. Approved provincial first-class professional construction point 1 (surveying and mapping engineering), provincial first-class courses 8, provincial teaching team 2, provincial curriculum ideological and political demonstration project 1, provincial education reform project 16, Ministry of Education industry-university cooperation project 16, provincial scientific research project 52. In 2023, the students of the university have made repeated achievements in various competitions, and won more than 120 national awards, more than 300 provincial and ministerial awards, and won 1 silver award and 1 bronze award in the China International College Students Innovation Competition.

It has jointly built the "Linchuan Cultural Inheritance and Innovation Research Institute" with Peking University, signed the strategic cooperation framework agreement with Jiangxi Unicom, and jointly built the "Gandong Digital Economy Research Institute" with Fuzhou Telecom to serve the major strategic needs of the state and local governments. It has established friendly and cooperative relations with universities and research institutes in many countries, such as Inti International University in Malaysia and Shinawatra International University in Thailand, and has conducted exchanges and cooperation with well-known universities in China, such as Xi 'an Jiaotong University, Dalian University of Technology, University of Science and Technology Beijing and Shanghai University.
