The predecessor of Guangxi Vocational and Technical College was Guangxi Labor University, which was founded in 1965. It has successively passed through the historical stages of Guangxi Agricultural College Tropical Crops Branch (undergraduate), Guangxi Agricultural Reclamation Workers University, Guangxi Vocational College of Agriculture and Industry. Approved by the Ministry of Education in 1998, it became the first batch of public higher vocational colleges in Guangxi that were independently restructured.
