Fuyang Institute of Technology is a public full-time ordinary higher education institution sponsored by the People's Government of Fuyang City. The school was founded in 1956. In 1984, it was among the first batch of education colleges of the Ministry of Education. It began to offer higher vocational education in 1998 and was restructured and renamed Fuyang Vocational and Technical College in 2001. The school has aligned with the local characteristic industries and determined its educational orientation as "taking agriculture as the foundation, engineering as the backbone, and promoting the coordinated development of multiple disciplines and specialties". The school is currently a national key higher vocational college, a pilot unit for modern apprenticeship and the "1+X" certificate system, one of the first batch of demonstration schools in Anhui Province, a benchmark school for higher vocational education development, a typical demonstration school for school-enterprise cooperation, a construction unit of high-level higher vocational schools in Anhui Province, and a pilot university for comprehensive reform of "all-round education". The only academy in Anhui Province dedicated to training non-commissioned officers for the Rocket Force, military Space Force and Information Support Force.

The school is located by the beautiful Qiyu River, close to Fuyang High-Speed Railway Station and the airport. It enjoys a pleasant environment and convenient transportation. The current land area is 1,281 mu, and the total area of school buildings is 495,000 square meters. There are 8 teaching units, namely the College of Urban and Rural Construction (College of Rural Revitalization), the College of Information and Intelligent Manufacturing (Non-commissioned Officer College), the College of Economics and Management, the College of Health Care and Nursing, the College of Medicine, the College of Preschool Education, the College of Public Basic Education, and the College of Marxism. There are currently 791 staff members, among whom 653 are full-time teachers. There are 42 with senior professional titles, 163 with associate senior professional titles, and 407 "dual-qualified" teachers in higher vocational colleges.

The school currently offers a total of 40 majors, covering 14 major categories including finance and business, electronics and information, transportation, education and sports, tourism, energy, power and materials, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, light industry and textile, biology and chemical engineering, food, medicine and grain, civil engineering and architecture, culture and art, medicine and health, and equipment manufacturing. It has established 9 professional clusters. There are currently 7 national key and backbone specialties, 14 provincial demonstration specialties, characteristic specialties and comprehensive reform pilot specialties, and 1 national modern apprenticeship system pilot specialty. The level of talent cultivation and the ability to serve industrial development have been significantly enhanced, and the degree of alignment between the school's positioning and social demands has been notably improved.

In the past five years, the school's teachers have published approximately 809 papers of various types, published or participated in the publication of 111 textbooks and monographs, initiated 180 provincial quality engineering projects, 196 school-level quality engineering projects, 124 provincial scientific research projects, and 78 school-level scientific research projects, and obtained 6 invention patents and 113 utility model patents. Two special prizes, four first prizes, five second prizes and seven third prizes of provincial teaching achievements were won. Teachers and students have successively won 4 international awards in various skills competitions at all levels, including 2 first prizes, 1 second prize and 1 third prize. There were 208 national-level awards, including 41 first prizes, 94 second prizes and 73 third prizes. There were 700 provincial-level awards, including 110 first prizes, 233 second prizes and 357 third prizes.

The school has jointly established six industry colleges with leading enterprises such as Qianxin and has been approved for one provincial modern industry college. Take the lead in establishing a national BIM technology application industry industry-education integration community, the Fuyang City Automotive Industry-Education Integration Consortium, and five provincial-level county-level industry-education integration entities including unmanned aerial vehicles, elderly care and health, logistics, intelligent manufacturing, and green food. Led the establishment of the Fuyang Vocational Education Group, which was rated as a provincial-level exemplary vocational education group. Through school-enterprise cooperation, 28 provincial-level industry-education integration training bases and practice centers have been established, and one national-level production-oriented training base has been approved.

The school has jointly established two ministerial-level collaborative innovation centers for BIM technology and brewing technology, two provincial-level collaborative innovation centers and a collaborative technology service center for 3D printing technology and edible fungi technology with enterprises. It has also built eight school-level research platforms, including the Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering Research Center and the Cybersecurity Collaborative Innovation Center. In collaboration with enterprises, it has jointly established the Northwest Anhui Biological Seed Industry Technology Innovation Research Center. It was approved for a provincial postdoctoral research workstation and selected as a provincial science and technology commissioner workstation.

The school has explored the establishment of an education system based on the Wangjiaba spirit, implemented a "seamless integration from morning to night" education mechanism, and successfully passed the acceptance inspection as a provincial "all-round education" comprehensive reform pilot university. The school has been awarded the title of "Advanced Collective in Graduation and Employment Work of Ordinary Colleges and Universities in Anhui Province", and is among the first batch of designated training institutions for entrepreneurship in the province. It has also been listed as a provincial-level practical base for college students' innovation and entrepreneurship education, and has been approved as a key college of Marxism in Anhui Province and a base for inheriting excellent traditional Chinese culture in Anhui Province. The "Integration of the Young and the Old, Enjoying Learning and Achieving Success" project has been recognized as a "Lifelong Learning Brand" in Fuyang City.

During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the school will always adhere to the fundamental principle of fostering virtue and nurturing talent, take promoting employment as the orientation, and serve the society as the purpose. It will fully implement the spirit of the national and provincial vocational education conferences, follow the new era's positioning of vocational education reform and development, and proactively adapt to the construction of "Three Bases and One Zone" and the high-quality development of industries in our province. Taking the construction of the internal quality assurance system, the "Two Basics" construction and the "Quality Improvement and Excellence" action plan as the starting points, benchmarking against the "Double High" construction and the standards for setting up vocational undergraduate programs, we will strengthen the school's internal construction, improve the school's educational conditions and enhance the school's educational level, striving to build the school into a vocational school with strong comprehensive strength and distinct characteristics. Achieve new breakthroughs in being selected as a construction unit for the national "Double High Plan" and in the establishment of undergraduate-level vocational schools.
